"It won't fit. Stop trying" Ella said rolling her eyes. Ben continued to push the ladder into the back of the carriage
"If it doesn't fit then I shall make it fit" he trained his eyes on me and smiled. I blushed and looked down if Antony found out about us he would banish us. He walked over and helped Ben fit the ladder into the back.
"We have to leave before dusk. We do not have time to play around. Anne and Richard will arrive back any time" he looked between the five of us. Richard stood behind the horses getting them ready to ride and Josephine sat in the back of the carriage.
"Every one is ready for the journey?" We all knew the answer. No. Physically yes. We had packed and fed but none of us were ready to take on the trip to America. None of us were ready to leave Anne, Richard and Anthony behind. They were our rocks. But we were capable of functioning without them. They would look to me to lead them and I was very confident that I could. A second carriage came to join us.
"They're here" Anthony's face showed no emotion.
