Chapter 6

I sprinted away, leaving Mason. I am such a horrible person. Leaving Mason. He could die! I suddenly came to a stand still.

He could die! I must be crazy. I turned back around and ran back to the clearing.

When I got there Mason was clearing up the picnic like nothing had happened.

The wolves were nowhere in sight.

"Mason?" I questioned.

He turned and looked at me. He had a small gash on his cheek but it didn't look like anything serious. As I looked at it, it disappeared right in front of my eyes.

"I told you to go back."

"I was worried. You could have died! How did you survive two giant wolves with only a scratch that magically disappeared?"

"Addy, I need to tell you something. Just please don't freak out to bad and you can't tell anyone. Promise?"

"Mason-" he cut me off.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

He took a deep breath and slowly started to transform into a wolf, bigger than the two from before, but unlike those two, his fur was silver.

I gasped and started to back away. Mason took a step towards me.

I turned to run but a hand held me back.

I turned to see Mason back in human form.

"Please don't run away. I was going to have to tell you sooner or later."

"Why did you have to tell me?"

"Because, well lets go back and I'll explain at the barn."

We walked back in silence. I kept a good distance between us and never looked up to meet his eye even though I know he wanted me to. Finally we got back to the barn and he brought me into the break room and made me sit down on the couch.

"Can you please explain now?"

"Okay. So my father is the Alpha of the Satagwa Pack. I'm the future Alpha. There are packs all over the world, but the oldest and most powerful is the Wolf Pack itself. It's ruled by the head Alpha, John Dreama. He has a son and a daughter, but their names are only known to those of the Wolf Pack until they come of age and begin to search for their mate. All wolves have a mate. There mate is their other half, what makes them whole. But their mate has to be another wolf. It is almost impossible for a wolf to mate with a human, but it has happened before. Which is what brings me to why you need to know. When you touch me, do you get a tingling sensation throughout your body an suddenly feel all warm and you just feel like you're at home?"

"Yeah," I slowly processed what he was telling me.

"That means you're my mate. And in order to be my mate, you pretty much have to be a wolf."

I am a wolf. WHAT?Wait, Mason is my mate, my other half, my soul mate. Well at least something good came out of this.

"Addy?"

"What? Oh sorry, it's just a lot to process. So you're my mate?"

"Yup."

"Which means I'm a wolf."

"Yeah, but that's a good thing because the color of your coat determines your rank. I'm silver which is the color of all alphas except the Wold Packs Alpha and family. They're whiter than snow. Betas and their family are black and common wolves range from blonde to chocolate brown."

"So all I have to do is turn into a wolf to find out my rank?"

"Yup. If you're an alphas daughter it would help narrow you down. But I'm going to bring you to my dad. He can help you channel your wolf."

"Um okay. When do you want me to meet him?"

"Tomorrow would be best because after that he has something to take care of with the pack. Oh and just to let you know, Tasha and her whole family are wolves too."

"They are?! Who else that I know is a wolf?"

"Chris is and basically all of the workers on the ranch. But I have to get back to work and you have to get back to the house and get ready for dinner. Tasha's taking you out somewhere fancy so dress nice."

"Okay thanks. And Mason, about the whole you're my mate thing, can we talk about it later? I still need to process the whole I'm a wolf thing."

"Of course." He smiled and I walked back to the house to get ready.

So I hope you like this chapter but I might not be updating again for a bit because the hurricane is going to hit my house and the powers gonna be out for a bit so I'm updating now to make up for it. So thanks everyone for reading:)
