it's funny, i almost introduced myself as
Chuck,
"Clyde, sir."
"and what makes you think you can run around with my daughter?"
resting my eyes on my plate,
i attempted to think of a reason i still stayed around her.
i said the first thing that came to mind,
"i love her, sir."
it wasn't entirely a boldface lie.
but
falling in love
takes time.
that doesn't mean i wasn't
falling in like with her.
you just don't know how fucking hard that was.
