"tell me i mean nothing to you."
i demanded, it was becoming increasingly harder to stay away.
i'd started to find myself admiring her blue tips that were slowly turning an ashen violet.

her hair, usually long enough to travel down her back, had gotten short enough to barely pass her shoulders, the blond still vibrant.

she pushed a strand behind her ear, looking up at me through hooded eyes,
"what? why?"

Bonnie was getting louder and even the teacher was staring.

i watched as she licked her full lips before opening her mouth to speak.

and i didn't want to hear it, i couldn't hear it,
"please. tell me i'm just another fuck, you don't like me and you couldn't care less about what happens to me,
tell me that. it's the only way i'll get over you."

we had all the attention and for once, i didn't care, even though i'd expected to be called out for profanity,
but the teacher must've felt my pain because she acted as if she hadn't heard it.

i wanted Bonnie to hear me out for once and listen.
but Bonnie didn't listen.

"i can't do that..."
she disagreed, getting back to what she was writing, it was an assignment about a bad experience we'd had in her lives.

and i watched as her hair fell to shield her face away from me,
it was the first time i'd seen her hide.

"why not?"

and then standing, she grabbed her stuff
and she made it to a different seat but not before softly saying her reply,
"Clyde, can we just drop it? i want to be your friend."

and that was when i started writing.
