I had a good buzz from the cocktail. Trixie was currently in her dressing room and we managed to make sure she didn't see me when she came in. I literally hid, crouched behind the table while Sasha, Ben and Ginger all waved and greeted Trixie.

"Alright I gotta go give her five minute warning"

Ginger went to the dressing room poking her head in for only a moment before coming back to the table.

My palms became sweaty and I began to stress out. Sasha must have noticed because she grabbed my hand

"Ginger we've got a Russian in distress. Can we get a shot of vodka please? Katya it's gonna be alright. She wants to see you and talk to you"

"It's only been two weeks since we talked last Sasha. That's the longest we've ever gone. It's pathetic I'm making such a big deal out of absolutely nothing"

"You're not pathetic. Katya it was our idea to bring you here tonight. We know what's gonna happen and we know you being here is necessary"

Cheers filled the room. Ginger brought me a shot

"Fuck me" I quickly downed the shot and looked up at Trixie who was now on stage staring right at me. I was sitting facing her and at the front of the table so she could see all of me.

She cleared her throat "h-how's everybody doing tonight!"

Everyone cheered, more people piled into the bar

"Great! Well If tonight's goes according to plan, I should be done my set by next year!"

Trixie began playing and I instantly calmed down and focused on her. She looked so beautiful, her makeup was perfect and she was wearing a see through pink lace jumper with the same colour shorts and bra underneath. And her hair, her hair was blonde

After a few songs she took a sip of her white wine "now I have a new song I'm gonna play. Well I guess it's not new but I've never performed it. I think tonight is the night most fitting for it" Trixie looked at me and the first chords of the song rang out

"Seeming when I'm older that it's younger how I feel
Learning that you only get the raw end of the deal
First one to the finish line but the last one left to know
Second place adorns you no matter where you go
Well I've been out to Austin back to Boston where I've been following the highways in my hand
When I go back to Wisconsin and when I come home again
Has anybody out there seen my man..."

The song was amazing. Trixie was so talented

"I guess it should be 'has anybody out there seen my woman' but that doesn't fit. Maybe 'has anybody out there seen my girl' let's try it"

She played the chords of the chorus and sung

"Well I've been out to Austin back to Boston where I've been
Figuring out the world in my hand
While I search for a beauty as pretty as a pearl
Waiting on this love to unfurl
Has anybody out there seen my girl"
"Mm maybe we'll stick with the original. that was awhile But pretty good for improv right?!"

Everyone cheered her on and I smiled

"Alright I'm gonna play one more song for you guys tonight. I was going to um play a song off my two birds album but this night is full of surprises. How bout some good old Dolly Parton to end off the new year?"

"Why'd you come in here lookin' like that
In your cowboy boots and your painted-on jeans
All decked out like a cowgirl's dream
Why'd you come in here looking like that
Here comes my baby
Draggin' my heart behind
He's drivin' me crazy
Who says love is blind
He's got a wanderin' eye and a travelin' mind
Big ideas and a little behind
Out with a different woman every night
But I remember when he was mine
Why'd you come in here lookin' like that
In your high heeled boots and your painted-on jeans
All decked out like a cowgirl's dream
Waltzing right in here lookin' like that
Why'd you come in here lookin' like that
When you could stop traffic in a gunney sack
Why you're almost givin' me a heart attack
When you waltz right in here lookin' like that"
