Lkye;

I left her at the balcony after couple of minutes of battling Ramsi and the dark place he was dragging me too. I was just about dealing with my own human feelings of rejection and pain without adding the tremendous weighting of his rejection, feelings of loneliness slowly seeping into to my heart and I took one breath and griped the pain and turned it cold. I could not afford to let this affect me. She made a choice and I have the responsibility of protecting her and my pack.

I called my war council, I created one, once I met Derek, and Samuel has been given the position of arming all able wolves and she wolves.

Samuel was the first to arrive, he took one look at me and stood back, like he was rebelled by a force.

"What!" I exclaimed,

"Your hurt, or rather Ramsi is, you don't look well. What happened?"

"Nothing, lets set up before everyone comes, we need to strategies, any word from the elfs?'

Last thing I needed was talk about why Ramsi is acting like his wounded and depressed. For the first time I disliked samuel's ability to read and have an insight into other's. As an immortal he was valuable and his gifts of sight and sense were incredible even for a werewolf.

"No, but there is a lot of movement near the wall on their side. They are preparing, one of the east portal team said they saw something fly over the wall but quickly disappeared."

"Damn creatures can fly, but can they turn invisible?"

"No, they can disguise but never seen them turn invisible"

"Best keep an eye on the skies too now. Any update on the witch and the vampire?"

"No, they have moved off the forest but their scent is still around, so not too far. "

"Ok. I think he's worth approaching the elf and getting a better picture of their defence. I don't like either camps but I don't think we can stop this situation from igniting. I can't threaten elfs behind a wall nor deal with a witch and army of vampires."

"Ayago suggested we leave, the forest will become a battling ground and we'll get caught up in it."

"Has made himself a member of my pack? I can't recall initiating him."

"You don't need to, he'll remain wherever Rain is, he's her guardian, he's also a trained guard and veteran of the old order. Now that we are certain he could never do anything to harm this pack, I believe his wisdom and experience is valuable."

"How did you come to the conclusion that he could not harm this pack?"

"Rain is the Luna, her role and responsibility are automatically his"

I didn't respond to that but internally Ramsi made a soul aching cry that I suppressed. She wasn't the Luna, or rather she didn't want to be.

After the few minutes the rest of council came in and the meeting turned to war grills and defence strategies.

It kept my mind of things, and before long I look in some phone calls and checked with the patrols. I was tempted to follow Samuel to the rounds but didn't want to risk shifting with the moods Ramsi was displaying. After 2 hours Samuel gave me a concerned look and left with the rest.

I stretched, opened my senses to check who was around, other then Rain, the pack house was silent and empty, beside me.

Panic seeped into me and i ran upstairs. No, this could not be happening again.

I checked the kitchen, bathrooms, but I already knew she wasn't here.

I quickly sent the portals an alert to keep a watch for her, without much thinking I shifted and let Ramsi search her scent.

It was faint, and the weather was cold and windy. Meaning she left or was taken hours ago and the windy was making it impossible to keep a straight track.

Noah has been trying to get through and I let him.

What?

" an elf has crossed the wall, just one. Flying, he's heading to town. Have you found her?"

I growled and changed course, I knew exactly who that elf was and where he was going.

"No but I have a good idea, are there patrols still around the girls flat?"

"No" I knew that, we didn't have enough man power to cover the whole of our forest never mind the small town the university was on.

Ramsi pushed himself to make it to Rain before Eric but it was still too late. By the time I reached the clearing near the flat, I sensed or saw a strange sight. The elf was here, and he was glowing, even though he was in glamour and next to him stood Rain, angry, human but also glowing. They appeared to be in heated discussion, that looked very intimate.

They stood very close, the tension in the air was static and dense.

Ramsi pushed forward growling with jealousy and Rain looked up, noticing my approach.

She was quickly moved from my sight bye Eric, who stood straight and defensive.

She attempted to push him aside, and claimed "it's Lyke"

"It's the wolf, he's not in control, go back to the flat and lock the door."

This made me even more angry, he was protecting my mate from me.

I ran forward, wanting to aim for his neck and break it. Before I could two things happened. First Rain got in between and Eric sprouted wings.

"Lyke, stop, please." Rain pleaded.

go back to the flat!. I mind linked her, forcing the block she had between us. This at first took her by surprise but she responded.

No, listen, change, let's talk.

Ramsi just growled at her plead. Change? When he wanted to sink his teeth into that creature?

The answer was an affirmative no which was followed by low threatening snarl as I observed Eric draw closer to Rain.

Eric that this point, decided to expand his wings and fly, with a flapping and screeching Rain in his arms.

This absolutely infuriated me.

Rain was now demanding he put her down, but he wasn't listening. He had a strong hold on her, and he flew deeper into the forest.

I kept up with his speed and followed from the ground. I called back up and told then to use the fancy arrows Samuel has been training them with to shoot him down before he reached the wall.

He flew faster and I sensed a strong current of electricity shoot through the air and hit the pair. Rain fell from his arms as he struggled with a injury.

I changed quickly and leaped to break her fall.

She landed right on top of me, she felt warm and static, as if the currents where running through her. I quickly checked her for injury.

Eric landed nearby.
