30. Cries

I awoke to the sound of a baby crying outside my window. I looked out to see a little form in the back yard. Panicking, I ran outside to help the poor thing and bring it out of the cold.

When I picked it up, I realized it was a realistic doll with a voice recorder playing. I went back inside, shaken. When I crawled back into bed a voice said "I'm surprised you didn't check the house" before my world went dark.
