CHAPTER TWELVE
( WHEN IT COULDN'T GET ANY WORSE! )

ADELAIDE FOUND HERSELF COMPLETELY TRANSFIXED BY THE DANCING WOMAN, AND IT SEEMED SO DID THE ENTIRE TITTY TWISTER; ESPECIALLY THE GECKO BROTHERS. She moved smoothly and swiftly as if she'd been performing this sultry dance for years; as a thick, pale snake laid carefree over her tanned shoulders. She wore a matching two piece that complimented her red lip and skin tone as well as an extravagant head piece that Adelaide couldn't help but think that it must hurt her neck, especially with the extra pressure of the relaxed snake. The woman's hands held both ends of the reptile and she smirked devilishly, Adelaide felt like it was directed to her group for some reason. And she seemed to be right as the woman slowly moved towards them, her hips swaying and head held high. Usually Adelaide was scared of snakes, actually petrified, terrified even, but she felt at peace and that worried her; a lot.

Suddenly the woman had disappeared and the whole room turned, craning their heads in odd ways desperate and intrigued to find her.

As the light shone behind the Gecko brothers, she appeared as if like she was an appricitation or they were all high on something that caused a mutual hallucination of this disturbing woman. Adelaide didn't know what was more likely, since the sudden appearance was weird and unsettling, making her stomach sizzle with a sickly feeling. Rather than be confused (like the Gecko brothers were as they stared at the woman stood in between them) the rest of the bar erupted into claps and whoops. Then just as soon as she'd appeared as the artificial spotlight passed over her, she was gone, leaving a paranoid Richie glancing around quickly, so fast it unsettled his slicked dark hair.

The woman was back on the stage making her way to a pole Adelaide hadn't noticed before. She couldn't help but imagine it was her dancing on that pole in front of all these disgusting, gawking men as the woman slid around it effortlessly, throwing off her headpiece. It made her shiver physically and feel like she might actually throw up. Rage and sadness at Carlos filled her body again, and she almost left the table when her elbow accidentally hit Seth's forearm which made her, for some reason, stay in her seat. But he didn't notice and she scowled at him as his attention seemed solely on the dancing woman, Adelaide didn't know why she expected him to be different. She knew men, and they were all the same. It didn't matter how nice or respectful or kind they seemed to be; they were all the same and were only interested in the same thing. Adelaide knew that.

Before Adelaide knew it the woman had climbed on their table, her foot inches from Adelaide's drink and she scowled at the foot then back up to her. This would be the last drink she'd have for a while; she was broke and she didn't think she'd be spending much time with the Geckos anymore, especially not enough for them to get her drinks again. So if this dramatic woman ended up knocking it over with her bare, tanned feet Adelaide would not be very happy.

The whole table gazed up, speechless and either in awe or confusion; but mostly a mix of the both. She stopped right in front of Richie and the pair stared at each, with something clouding in their eyes that wasn't exactly lust. It made Adelaide uncomfortable as if she was watching an inappropriate scene on TV with her parents; which of course would never happen. She felt even more uncomfortable when the sultry woman picked up a bottle from the table and poured it down her leg, her toe in Richie's mouth as a violin played smoothly somewhere. Adelaide squirmed, especially when thinking her tongue had been exactly where that toe was only moments ago. Foot fetishes definitely weren't her thing.

As a few people cheered the girl lifted her leg and licked it, the remains of the alcohol dripping on her chin. Adelaide couldn't help but feel as if this show was supposed to be a distraction and it unsettled her. She elbowed Seth but he just scowled at her, ignoring the statement she was trying to say with her darting, wide eyes. He thought she was pissed or jealous, after what had just happened in that back room, and he wanted her to feel how he had oddly felt. But in all reality Adelaide couldn't care less; in fact it hadn't even crossed her mind. She didn't care who flirted or kissed or slept or did weird feet stuff with Richie. She didn't love him or even really like him, if she was honest she didn't really care if she even kissed him again. Or that she had. Okay maybe that was a little bit of a lie.
