Chase’s Smexy POV

Shit, god freaking dammit. I don’t know why I even…

Argh! Why the fuck is nothing going my way anymore? First, I say ‘Fuck you,’ like I freaking hated his guts like I should, and the next second I’m swapping spit with him. Also, I’m nearly positive that I would have done a lot more than that if Kade hadn’t shown up…

And I wasn’t even sure if I was angry or grateful that he had interrupted. I mean… god damn it. Why is all of it so confusing?! I’m not supposed to like anyone.

You’re a slave. An experiment. Nothing more.

I blinked in shock as I paused on the stairway with realization…

Fuck…

An experiment… non worthy of a mate… used for nothing else except other people’s personal gain. A slave.

“Seriously, you’re pausing on the stairs?” Kade huffed from in front of me, causing me to blink before shaking my head quickly, mumbling an apology as I hurried down the stairs.

Kade looked slightly surprised at the sorry before shaking his head and leading Jason and I into the living room where everyone was sitting.

“Feeling better, Chase?” Bruce asked looking concerned from the couch as I walked in the room and I frowned.

“Why wouldn’t I be okay?”

“Cause you were calling everyone all sorts of things earlier.” Caitlin stated matter of factly, and I stuck my tongue out at her before sitting down, not even bothering to answer Bruce’s question, since I’m pretty sure it was obvious that I was fine.

Even though I might not be.

Blegh.

“Okay, so what happened?” I asked, forcing myself to move on with the subject of what had happened with everyone and why they were gone so fucking long.

I mean, seriously? It had to have been hours since they were first here. What the hell took them so long?

Caitlin scowled. “Well, first we had to wait, like, three billion hours for them to talk to us, because apparently they are so freaking busy-“

“Don’t you work for them?” Kade asked with a raised eyebrow and Caitlin stuck her tongue out at him.

“Everyone gets fed up with their bosses.” She huffed. “Anyways, the stupid jerk didn’t believe a single thing we said.”
