"So if you didn't make them for an AU? Where did they come from?" I ask him. This is actually the first time I have ever been able to talk to him about AU's. Other than the question of why I destroyed them. But the more we talk, the more grey area appeared. He couldn't seem to figure out where the first papers were made or why he made them all different. But maybe there is an original?

"Wait a second." I say, getting back up again. I go back to the pocket of space that holds the rest of the papers. I reach in as far as I can go and grab one of the oldest stacks in the collection. They are a little dusty, especially since I haven't looked at them in almost 3 years. I give them to Ink, hoping the jog the memory of why he made them, and possibly what they mean. But he comes up as clueless as I am.

He fans out the pages in his hands. And something sparks both of our curiosities simultaneously. This one is not in symbols. I don't know why I ever over looked this, for this could be the most important one of all. He holds it in shaking hands and skims over it in lightening speed. Even if they aren't in symbols, it's not legible. The words seemed to be smeared and coated in black paint. Fire courses through me as I remember that day, 3 years ago. It was another day when Ink confronted me. And he remembers that day too, for his lack of eye contact hints at regret.

As I mentally shrug off any signs of pity, I continue to analyze the page. There is only one thing legible, a quick scratch of letters at the bottom of the page. A quick last stitch effort to bind a name to a page. A name we both know, and a name that is unique to all others. For one that is called this has been almost a bigger mystery than all of us. Sans. See, this couldn't be any other AU.

This was Classic.

I don't know why it always had bothered me that Ink had nicknames for the characters in other AU's. They have been tagged in Ink's twisted program. A way for them to be categorized and labeled before they can even make a name for themselves. I have always been Error, and I don't think I need to explain why.

But Classic reminds me of a bigger than life character. Someone I have always thought of as being made after Ink's image. But over time, I have learned it to be the opposite. Classic Sans lives not in an AU, but in the source of all AU's. The code that makes that universe what it is, is the center of everything. The Base Code.

Every single universe has the Base Code, the only differences is how it changes through time. The older AU's can't be destroyed because their code becomes fused with the Base Code. It latches on to any similarity, trying to preserve energy. Even the code knows it's only a copy. A copy of a code that can not be  DELETED.

When I found this paper, I tried and tried to delete the code. But I was unsuccessful. I poured all of my energy and magic into wiping that place out of existence. But I had failed. And after that failure, I had gone through some hard times. I fell behind on destruction, and keeping balance. Only because I had realized I wasn't just an error, I was a copy.

Someone who has stolen an identity. And manipulated it, but not enough to escape the knowing. The knowing that you were never you. You were someone else. Another copy shaped and forced into being someone else's. As a copy you are made with a soul purpose of doing someone else's bidding. And you are never given free will. But I guess I knew that from the beginning. But staring at the original papers, only recreates that existential crises.

Ink doesn't understand my stupor. But he knows that we have to do something now that we have liable information. "It looks like we have an AU to visit." He says selecting papers to take with him. If only he knew that what we are visiting isn't even an AU at all...

But then again, ignorance is bliss.
