5SOS Preferences- He Shouts At Your Child (2/4)

Ashton: It was just you and your four year old Charlie at home today. Ashton was at the studio and running late for tea. "Mum? When's dad home?" You sighed putting the last of the dishes away. "I don't know sweetie, he shouldn't be long. I tell you what, you go get your dollies and we can play until he gets home, yeah?" She nodded and ran up to get her dollies. You tried phoning him again but still no answer. Deciding to give up, you waited in the living room for Charlie to come down. After about an hour of playing the door finally opened. He walked in looking stressed as he sat down on the sofa across from you's two. "Hi daddy! Do you want to play dollies with me and mummy?" Charlie jumped up striding forward for her dad. He sighed, rubbing his face before answering. "Maybe another time, daddy's tired." You knew this wasn't going to end well. He had been refusing to spend time with her lately, always saying he was too tired. You let her carry on, hoping he would get the message soon. "But-" "Charlie! Stop, okay? Daddy's tired and doesn't want to play with your stupid dolls! Just go to bed." You couldn't believe what had just happened. Shock still on your face as you watched your little girl run upstairs crying. "Ashton, I seriously can not believe you just did that. You've hardly spent any time with her lately or even me. But I can take that because I know how you love your job, but that little girl upstairs who talks constantly about you to any one who will listen and tells them how her daddy is her hero does not deserve that. Ashton she adores you, maybe you could show her a little more love." You went up stairs to see how Charlie was holding up, leaving Ashton in a huff. You walked into her room and your heart broke as you watched her cry holding her photo of you three at the park. "Hey come on sweetie, come here." She sat on your lap and cried into your shoulder. She had gotten herself into such a state. "Come on, ssh, baby it's okay." You heard her door open and watched as Ashton's face fell at the sight of his little girl crying because of him. "Look, here's daddy, you want a cuddle from him?" She grabbed a tighter hold of you and cried even harder screaming no. Ashton looked heart broken.

He knelt in front of his girls wiping a few tears on his face. "Baby, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to shout at you and be all grumpy. I love you so much, Charlie come on please look at me." His efforts failed, she wasn't having any of it. "Ash, just give me a minute, I'll try to calm her down then you can apologise." He hesitated but left the room before breaking down in your room.

Calum: You, Calum and your five year old daughter Caitlyn were at the park for some family time. You and Calum sat and chatted while you's watched Caitlyn play with her ball. For weeks while Calum was on tour she had been practicing her football skills for her dad. Secretly she was a little jealous after finding out that she was going to be getting a little brother and spending time playing football would always keep her dad close. She kicked it and it rolled down the hill making it's way towards the road. It was Calum's ball from his high school years and Caitlyn treasured it. Caitlyn started chasing after it, in hope to catch her daddy's ball, this of course panicked you and Calum. You shouted for Caitlyn to stop but she was too far away to hear but Calum was already chasing after her. Desperate to catch her before she ran too close to the road, you followed slowly behind with your heavily pregnant belly silently praying nothing bad would happen. Calum caught her and you heard him shouting. "Caitlyn, you never ever ever do that again! You had me and mummy worried, anything could have happened. Did you not listen when we said that you never run near roads! Did you not even hear us shouting on you?" You watched as your daughter cried in her dad's arms. "Calum, calm down. She knows what she did was wrong, okay?" She hugged tighter to her dad apologising between sobs. "I just wanted to get your ball, daddy." She cried harder in Calum's arms. "Baby, you scared me. Never do that again. I'm sorry I shouted but I couldn't cope if anything happened to you." He stood back up holding her in his arms as they walked over to you.
