His Biggest Fear

Harry: "Tell me," you insisted late one Friday night. "No, you'll tell me I'm crazy," he nudged you with his shoulder, causing you to sway in place. "I won't, I promise." You held out your pinky as a sign of good faith and he sighed. He really didn't want to tell you this, he felt a fight brewing if he did. "Just remember you asked for this," he took a deep breath, his eyes downcast on the bed spread. "I'm always...I'm always afraid you'll leave me," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. You stopped breathing, did he really think that? Did he really think you'd leave him? You felt sick, a cold sweat breaking out along your skin. Now you understood why he was so hesitant to tell you. "You...you what?" You asked numbly, your fingers tilting his cheek so he could look at you. "Don't make me say it again," he muttered. You could see it in his eyes: Harry was terrified. "Harry, I won't..." you started to say but trailed off. How could you even explain what he meant to you? "I'm never leaving you," you said hotly, your eyes burning into his. He nodded and shrugged. "I'm gone for so long, how do you know you won't get tired of waiting?" Now that he admitted it, he couldn't stop. His fears kept spilling from his mouth. "I won't. I love you, Harry. More than anyone or anything and without you..." you said, voice cracking, "I couldn't...what would I do?" He pulled you into his lap, crushed by the agony in your eyes. You loved him, he knew that. Felt it in everything you did and he knew he was being silly. "Please believe me, Harry, I'm not ever leaving." He hushed you, his lips against your forehead. He felt like an ass for making you this upset. "I do, baby. I believe you." He closed his eyes, finally meaning those words. You would never leave.
Liam: "Wanna try that one again?" You shouted angrily, your cheeks flushed with tears. "I can't help it, okay? I'm irrational, I get it!" Liam snapped, his fingers running along his stubble. He had made the very poor decision to tell you how worried he was that you'd leave him (truth be told, it was his biggest fear). "Well stop. Do you know how angry that makes me? It's like you're waiting for me to break your heart." His eyes fell to his boots and you sucked in a sharp breath. "Is that what you're doing?" You nearly shrieked, your heart breaking in your chest. "No, no of course not," he said thoroughly chastised. "You're breaking my heart," you cried hands balling into fists on your chest. "I'm not trying to, it's just a fear I have," he watched you fall to pieces and Liam never hated himself more than he did right then. "You need to start believing I won't leave you, Liam." You turned on your heel and marched to your bedroom, slamming the door. How could he think that when he was everything to you? You fell onto the bed in exhaustion, your eyes burning. A few minutes later, Liam slipped behind you and wrapped his arm around your waist. "I'm sorry, I never should have said anything. It gets hard out on the road without you and not being here. I'm sorry." You felt your walls break and you turned to kiss him softly. "I'm sorry I got mad. But I need you to stop thinking of us as temporary. You're my forever," you said watching him smile. He kissed your left ring finger, pleased. He relaxed. He had some ring shopping to do.
Zayn: He listened to your soft breathing as you slept, your head pillowed on his chest. You'd been long asleep but Zayn was fitful tonight. He was too worried. All his doubts and fears came out of the shadows at night in the shadows. "I'm so afraid of not doing this one day, with you." He said quietly into the dark. "That one day maybe you'll get tired of waiting and leave. Maybe meet someone else." His gut twisted as he spoke, an unspeakable agony running through his body. He couldn't imagine a life without you. "How could I even breathe," you whispered from his chest, "without you?" he closed his eyes, kicking himself. He didn't mean for you to hear his darkest confession. "How could I love anyone else, when you have showed me what it is to love and be loved?" You rose on your elbow and stared down at him, your eyes dark, glittering stars above him. "How could I ever, ever give my heart to someone else when it's been yours from the first second I saw you?" He couldn't speak, so deeply touched by your shamlessly confession. He tangled his fingers in your hair and brought your mouth to his, his tongue licking your lower lip. His demons slipped away, erupting into the light that you and your heart cast out. Zayn was filled with it and he knew that all his worries were for nothing: you both needed each other too much. You were a forever sort of love.
Niall: Niall fumbled over another chord and cursed. He was off, he couldn't figure out why. Nothing was right and he was irritated beyond belief. "You okay?" You asked raising an eyebrow as Niall slammed down his guitar. Tour was just a few days out and he was stressing. "Yes, no, I don't know." He said pacing before you. "Sit and talk," you scooted over and Niall laid down, his head on your knee. "I hate leaving you. I hate it and I'm just trying to deal with it and I don't think I can and what if you meet someone else when I'm gone, someone who can treat you better and will always be here and-" you pressed your hand to his mouth to get him to shut up. His blue eyes widened meeting yours. "How could you ever think that?" You said shell shocked. "How can you think that after everything? After everything we've been through, touring, the distance, the...the..." you couldn't finish. Niall sat up and groaned. Damn him and his big mouth, fucking everything up. "I wasn't thinking, of course I know you won't leave," he said hastily, his hands stroking your cheeks. "No, it's a worry. I can see it in your eyes." You said sadly, seeing the doubt still linger there. "I love you too much to be without you. You're my best friend, Ni. How am I supposed to just walk away when I've been yours from the start?" His eyes glossed over and he pressed his forehead to yours. "As soon as I get home, I'm marrying you," laughter bubbled from your throat as he spoke, a grin splitting your face. "Oh yeah?" you teased, your lips touching his. "Oh yeah, babe. It's a forever kind of thing." He pressed his mouth to yours wondering how he ever could have thought you two were meant for anyone else but each other.
Louis: "I'm afraid of centipedes," you shuddered into Louis chest. He chuckled, kissing your nose. "You don't need to be, babe, that's what I'm here for: to kill all the mean, scary bugs." You giggled, nuzzling his chest with your nose. "What's your fear?" You asked yawning. "I know I don't need to worry about it, but I worry about what this tour will bring. If it'll take us from each other." Louis had no problem telling you what he was thinking or feeling, and you appreciated that. "That's the most ridiculous thing ever," you said a little stung. As much as you appreciated his honesty, you hated knowing he thought about that. "I know. It still worries me though. So many things can happen..." he trailed off, his eyes far away. Swallowing the ache in your chest you cleared your throat. "Like we could survive without each other?" you asked lightly, trying to make him smile. "I know it isn't what you wanted to hear, but you need to understand that I would fall apart without you." He was being dead serious. "I would too, you know that. There isnt anyone else, you're stuck with me," you teased, tickling his side. "I wouldn't have it any other way," because he couldn't stand it and because it broke his eyes to see sadness in your eyes and knowing that he placed it there, he attacked you with kisses. "I love you, I love you, I love you," he said between each, making you laugh. "And I can't wait to marry you one day,"
