Chapter 19: Can We Work it Out

Start from the beginning

"What do you want, Tess?" I asked shortly.

"I want you gone." She said. "Now that I'm here, there's no need for you. Not that there was ever a need for you, but now there really isn't."

"I'm not leaving until the boys tell me to leave," I said back.

"I'm telling you to leave. Ii don't want you here."

"I don't care what you're telling me. You aren't one of the boys." I shoved past her, and started walking away, but stopped, and looked over my shoulder. "And for the record, I don't give a crap what you want." She smirked at me.

"You will when I take your boyfriend away from you. I advise you to stay away from Louis and Niall."

"You never liked Niall, did you?" I asked. Tess smirked again, and turned around, her heels clacking as she walked away.

Anger built up inside me, and my hands clenched into fists at my sides. I stalked back to the area where the boys were. Louis spotted me, and came over.

"Did you talk- hey. What's wrong?" He asked, just now realizing my fisted hands at my sides, and the expression on my face. I didn't answer him. I didn't even look at him. Instead, I stared at all of the people milling about around us.

Louis gently grabbed my arm, and pulled me away from all the people, into a quiet hallway.

"Tell me what's wrong." Louis said, rubbing circles into the back of my hand with his thumb.

"Well, first, my best friend told me to go away, and leave him alone. And then the giant bottle of pepto-bismol told me to leave, and to stay away from you and Niall. She basically told me she was going to steal you from me." I looked down at the ground. I felt Lou's finger under my chin. He tilted my head up to look at him.

"Okay, first of all, don't worry about Niall. He'll come around eventually. He can't stay mad at you for long. Secondly, I cannot stand Tess at all. I don't like the way she treats you, and I just all around don't like her. Thirdly, I can't be stolen from you. Especially not by her.

"Maybe not, but she'll still hurt Niall."

"Why don't you tell him what she said." Louis suggested.

"I can't. He won't believe me! She's like Jesus to him now. I don't see how when she's the devil to everybody else." Lou chuckled, and pulled me to him.

"Come on." He said, "let's get back to the hotel." Louis reached out, and captured my hand in his. The two of us met with the others. Harry walked up to Louis and I.

"Next time Niall leaves, he can take his woman with him. I have listened to her complain about her lip gloss for the past ten minutes, and i'm honestly ready to shove a fork in her voice box." I snorted, and started laughing. Louis chuckled, and threw his other arm over his best friend's shoulders.

"Come on, Lad. Let's get you out of here, before you commit a crime, and upset a lot of people." Louis said, steering us towards the door.

"Trust me. No one would care." Harry said.

"Probably not about the crime itself, but the jail sentence they would."

"I'm not famous. I'll do it!" I cheered. Harry grinned at me, while Louis playfully rolled his eyes, and laughed.

"I'd rather my girlfriend not go to jail." Louis said as we climbed into the van to go back to the hotel.

"Trust me," I said as I stared out the window in disgust at the walking bottle of Pepto-Bismol. "if she hurts Niall, or they break up, she's in trouble." I glared at her, not caring if she saw me. After all, it was her fault my best friend was mad at me. If she hadn't come into the picture, Niall and I would still be really close, and I wouldn't be dating Niall, and Niall wouldn't have told me to leave him alone.
