Liam: I’m so sorry Li. I never wanted it to end this way. But I can’t take it anymore. Everybody keeps calling me out on every little thing I do. It’s just getting to overwhelming. I love you so much, I can’t even explain. You’ve made my life 10 times better than it was and I can’t thank you enough. Every minute I spend with you makes me extremely happy. Unfortunately, the people who choose to criticize and call our relationship fake ruin that feeling. Just know that I love you with every ounce I have. Tell my parents I love them as well as my siblings. Can you also tell them how sorry I am for doing this? I know you’ll be upset for a while but you’ll find a girl who makes you just as happy. Just promise you’ll never forget what we had and be happy. I love you Liam… so much. Goodbye.

~(Y/N)

Those were the last words anybody would ever get from you. You just couldn’t continue on in pain anymore. You had your plan all mapped out, now all you had to do was act on it. As much as you were scared, you knew it had to be done. You stood on the prepared stool underneath the bedroom fan. The rope was tied securely around one of the blades and the letter was in the kitchen so Liam would find it before he found you. As you got up on the chair, you began to second thoughts, but pushed them away, knowing this was for the best.

“Goodbye, Liam,” you whispered, tears streaming down your face.

You took one last breath before stepping off the chair. The air was knocked out of you and you were left there struggling. You kicked your feet around and gripped the rope around your neck with your hands. Just before you blacked out though, you felt something wrap around your legs and lift up a little to relieve the tension. You couldn’t see very clearly but you had a good idea who it was.

The rope was untied from around your throat and your body was set down gently onto somebody’s lap. Your body was weak. You couldn’t move. You felt paralyzed and there was nothing you could do. The person holding you brought you up to their chest and once you took in the familiar scent, you knew it was Liam.

“(Y/N)! What the hell were you thinking?” Liam cried. You could feel the tears going into your hair.

You still hadn’t said anything, not trusting your voice yet.

“Please,” he continued, lowering his voice. “I got your note (Y/N) and what you said broke my heart. I can’t believe you never told me babe, why didn’t you tell me? I would’ve helped you… I can still help you.” As he kept talking his voice got softer and softer until it was a full whisper.

Finally trusting your voice, you thought it would be okay to explain. The least he deserved was a decent explanation.

“I-I didn’t tell you b-because I was s-scared you would leave. I figured you wouldn’t want to be with someone who wanted to die. But I also didn’t want you to think it was your fault because it’s not. I love you Li, but sometimes I-I just can’t take it. They make me feel useless and tell me I’m not worth your time and I’ve heard it so much, I’ve come to think that maybe it’s true. It’s just getting too hard to see any positive anymore.”

When you finished, Liam was still holding you but looking at you, tears streaming down his face. You felt so guilty for causing all of this.

“(Y/N), first things first, I would never leave. If I knew you needed help, I would’ve done anything I could to help you. I love you so much (Y/N) I couldn’t stand to lose you. You are not worthless, at all. You are most definitely worth my time, you are worth everything. They don’t know what they’re talking about. So we’re going to delete your Twitter, Facebook, whatever we can to keep you safe. Don’t think of it as me cutting you off, just think of it as me protecting you until things lighten up. You don’t deserve the BS they give you. I love you (Y/N), but I don’t want to come home to my girlfriend dangling from the ceiling.” He gave a dark chuckle at the last part.

You didn’t say anything. You couldn’t. What Liam had just said to you proved that somebody did care and was willing to help you. It meant so much to hear those words come out of his mouth. So you did what you could when you couldn’t sleep. You gathered up every inch of energy you had and gripped onto Liam for dear life.

“I need you Li… I’m so scared,” you cried out.

“Shh, baby. I’ve got you, I’ve got you. And I’ll never let go.”

“Thank you,” you whispered, finally feeling a bit better.
