She Tiptoes Through Her Tears

by  sloanranger

Jewels fill her eyes and she fools them when she cries,

they wet her lobes and ears ...

she tiptoes through her tears.

She keeps her feelings in as rivers leave her chin

and they seem to disappear...

she tiptoes through her tears.

They run down off her bodice like pearls that we don't notice

and no one seems to know

they're squishing in her toes.

She acts like she's surprised when I ask her why she cries...

she's been doing it for years -

she tiptoes through her tears.

Her wet face gleams and smiles, through every strain and trial -

she really has no fears,

she tiptoes... through her tears.
