Unleashed

by sloanranger

We laugh and play...

stay light and gay

and though we are not together yet

I am certain that we shall be one day.

We cannot relent - would take all my sense

were we to let go -

and you know that this is so.

You are smarter than me  - you've taken on the role,

the reins of custodian, caretaker.

And though you've stolen my heart,

you refuse to become heart-breaker.

Were we to part - I don't know if life would cease

but I know we're both afraid of what might happen

if our love suddenly and before its time

were ... unleashed.
