Definition: Free verse poems do not have any set guide lines and are written however the author pleases. They do not have to include meter patterns, rhyme or any other musical pattern.

A/N: Hey guys, I need an honest opinion; is "Baby Steps" or "Her Part to Play" better? I can only enter one or the other in the ATTYS. Thanks for the feedback :)

Sitting idly in seclusion,

Her facade a weighty mask,

Of smiles and content.

It hides lies and a broken spirit.

Her part to play is calling,

But her soul sings with regret.

Tears flowing,

Chest heaving.

A battle with her will;

Another day of hate.

Her part to play is calling,

But her heart still weeps with hurt.

No emotion shows through,

A wall behind all words;

What secrets are she hiding?

Just dying to reveal.

Her part to play is calling,

But her eyes say otherwise.

Another week of acting,

A play of false emotions.

The job is not yet done;

The storm shall never cease.

Her part to play is calling,

(An endless torrent of deceit,)

But such former strength is fading,

How will she make it through?

Her part to play is calling...
