Defintion: An Alphabet poem is similar to an Acrostic poem, however it does not form a word or phrase. Instead it begins at 'A' and continues down in alphabetical order. It does not have to include the whole alphabet. More commonly they stop at 'C' or 'F'.

Apples for the teacher,

Basket sleds down the stairs,

Cut my sandwich into squares and

Dunk my Oreos.

Ever missed the good old days?

Forever young and free,

Girls had cooties and boys were smelly,

How long ago it seems.

Icy-poles in the summer,

Jump rope at recess.

Kit Kats split in two for just you and me.

Like the innocents we were without a care in the world.

Maybe we grew out of our Hi-Five t-shirts and

Nemo swam to the back of the shelf.

Over the years we transformed.

Perhaps we learnt, somewhere in between the heart-breaking boys and the mean girls, the ugly truth of life.

Quick, before the memories fade,

Remind me again of those young days,

Sitting side by side under that big old oak tree.

Take back time, rewind and replay those long, happy days.

Uncover those lost memories; back when we sang too loudly and cried too easily.

Venture into the deep well of memoirs we share and treasure our happiest pastimes.

Whisper in my ear those secrets we shared.

Xmas gifts and hand-crafted cards.

Yesterday or eight years ago, either way, I remember when

Zeroes were O’s and zombies were real.
