Hazel’s POV

“Tyler Nathaniel? U-uh, he’s my friend.” I lied, knowing that is not what Matt meant.

“Sis,” He warned.

I groaned. I knew I can never lie to Matt. Ever. “Well, I kind of met him a few days ago, and…” I trailed off, not wanting to finish my sentence.

“And?” Matt urged.

“Tyler is a demon?” I stated, more like a question than a statement.

I can see shock etch into Matt’s features as his eyes widened while his mouth went agape. “Demon? Sis!” Matt yelled.

“I know, I know, Matt, spare me the lecture!” I raised both my hands up in a defensive mode.

“Sis! I know Tyler’s the whatever popular guy in school, not that I care but I never knew he is a demon. I mean, I sensed bad aura from him at the doorstep!” Well, angel's instinct huh. The inner me chirped in.

“Matt, you’re overreacting! Tyler is a nice guy! Well, maybe up till now.” I mumbled, chewing the insides of my cheeks. I don’t like where this conversation is going.

Matt sighed, “Sis, I warned you. Just stay away from him, okay?”

“No promises though,” I replied, giving Matt a fist bump before trudging upstairs into my room.

When I entered my room and closed the door behind me, a scent of bed sheets and curtains welcomed me. Walking over, I plopped myself on the huge navy blue bean bag at the corner of my room, right beside my book shelf, my little nerd corner, hehe. Ouch. My wound. Right, I need to shower. I groaned loudly, letting out the whole day held-in frustruation all at once. And once again, uneasiness spilled into me. Someone is watching me. Okay, Hazel, this is just your hallucination. You’re okay. You’re alone in this room and nobody’s watching you. Grab a book, start reading, or just go and take a shower. Everything’s fine. The inner me adviced and willingly, I took it. I walked up to my huge walk-in closet, grabbing a pair of sweats and a piece of All Time Low band t-shirt, I strode right into the bathroom to have a nice warm shower.

After tending to my shoulders, well, if you consider slapping a piece of plaster on the wound as tending, then yes, I tended to my wound, I sat down on my huge bed and let thoughts settle into my brain. I rubbed my scalp with the piece of white towel that is draped over my shoulders. I sighed for the umpteenth time today as I let my body weight sink into the mattress. Buzz, my phone vibrated, pulling me away from my thoughts.

New incoming message. From: Prince Rei xoxo

I laughed, he must’ve set that when I’m in a match. Then, my phone buzzed once more.

New incoming message. From: King duck T

Wow, another self proclaim love. It must be during the previous club training. I smiled. Wait, why am I smiling?

Brushing my thoughts away, I quickly opened up Rei’s text.

Hey Zel, uhm, sorry about just now. I was just…too worried, 4gotten how much you hated the clinic, forgive me pretty please? Btw, are you coming for training tmr? Please dont be angry at me anymore T_T

I smiled. This is what makes me love Rei. He knows when to apologize.

It’s fine, Rei. I know you care. Definitely, not missing out on bball. :)

I tapped the ‘send’ button then quickly went ahead to press onto Duck’s message.
