Jace's pov

He smelled his mate's scent and was very confused.

What the hell was she doing down here?

He didn't want her to see all the weapons.

He didn't want her to get involved in anything concerning the hunt and wars of his pack.

It wasn't her business to get involved in such dangerous things.

Yes, she was an alpha, but he was sure that she had another man taking care of the treaties, the strategies and battles.

There was no way that she could do strategies or lead in battle.

She handed the kids to Tommy and Dante that looked ready to faint with fear of crushing them accidentally, due to their muscled and callused hands.

Just as she was about to leave, Ash started crying and screaming while pushing at Tommy's chest that he didn't want her to leave.

He.always admired the care and love she was giving these pups even though they were not her own.

"I will be right back, baby alright? Don't worry TomTom has some muscle so he'll keep you safe"

Uh, why the hell would they need protection? he thought.

She then grabbed his hand pulling him out of the room.

He would lie if he said that he did not enjoy the caressing sparks that coursed through his body.

When they were out Jace stopped them and grabbed her shoulders before saying,

"What the hell is going on? Did something happen?"

He was very confused and worried cause her voice had an urgency and worry that he didn't like.

"Yes actually something really did happen, but it's not as important as what i'm gonna tell you now. Look i need you to stop the hunt for today. You have to stay here. I have a very bad feeling that something will happen and you need to trust me on this."

"What? Stop the hunt! That isn't possible. I can't do that. I can't just go around stopping all these warriors just because you have a bad feeling. This is stupid. You are overreacting. Just go and relax. Sleep or something. We'll be back soon. The stress seems to be affecting you." he dismissed.

Then he turned and ran back to the group.

What she was asking from him was absurd.

There was no way that he would stop the hunt just because she happened to have a 'bad feeling'.

He felt her following behind him.

She then grabbed the pups from Tommy and Dante, then started to walk out angrily.

Before she left the garage, she turned around saying,

"You know what? You're right. I am overreacting. I mean it is an everyday thing that i return to my room to find my pups horrified cause your great warriors did a great job keeping a filthy vampire out of the territory. You know i have been alpha of Blood Lust for two years now, this is almost the third and not once did a vampire even get close to my territory or ever even threatened a pack member of mine. I've been here for less than a fucking month and i have already received many indirect threats and now is the first time that i receive them directly. Great job everyone. But bare my words carefully Alpha cause i'm telling you that if anything happened like i have a feeling it will happen tonight, you will be the one to blame and you will stop considering me as your mate. I have tolerated enough and gone through so much in my fucking life and i won't tolerate you as well. I have enough on my shoulders already"
