Ode for the Modern Jahiliya
Salam to all Muslims out there!
I was so inspired by one of the Friday khutbahs that I've been before and it's about Jahiliya and how the way we're living nowadays are so deviated from Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) life. For those of you who're none Muslims, you're more than welcomed to contemplate on the reality of today's society.
Its not about religion, it's not spiritual. It's the truth and as human beings we can relate with each other of how much we've changed. Is it for the better of for worse?
Thy eyes are pierced, blind!
Nothing more seems unnatural
Feed thee on Lust and Passion
The revolving door of Sins
Embraced stronger by seconds, a Revelation!
Hath it not been retorted, multiple times?
Like stars of universal understanding
Silly me, for not answering thy requests
Seek thee of thy refuge, away and stranded
Nonsensical ignorance shall forth reign supreme
Forever? One might wonder.
The End comes from a steady pace
Deeply unknown, untouched by civilization
So-called Ecstasy in life, mere drugs
Urinating us, with alcohol from Heaven
Penetration between two souls, common!
Hiatus of awareness, visible no more!
Follow thy brains of impressionism
Pompous senses being put up blatant
Boring reminders of a distant path
The divider has been demolished
Neither right nor wrong, agreement of the Fools
Slowly intoxicating, breeding moisture
Of thy innocence and retardation
Those clipped eyelids are thrown
May thee, witness the Decimation of recurrence!
Patience hath no boundaries over space
Worse than pandemic of Doom, Catastrophe!
Uttered words are pointless, re-enactment besieged
Care whether it’s of Massive importance
Brothers of one Faith, one God
Hear me roar with disgust and humility
Bathed in blood of insanity, discretion are encouraged
Pride rolling in like clouds of yesteryears
We are nothing of the equality
Smell that incense of failure, inhale!
Lives are Games of the hindered wealth
Need us be worn out by sympathy?
Standing alone, chin embedded to the Soil
Further slaps required, More and More!
We learn of the Past, blasphemy as often as Hell
Drugs, a fortification of youth
Symbol of tethering damnation off the edge
Wept no longer, my bloody sisters
It has already been set on course, realize thee!
