It was a humble affair at Poole Crematorium. The mourners where mostly CI5 employees who Mulder and Scully had worked with at the office. Mulder's wife, kids and a few friends of his family where there. Paul was there. A little old man with his leg in a plaster cast. In recent years, he had been Scully's only friend.
Amazingly, CI5 had allowed The Fugitive to pay his respects. He was closely guarded, and dressed in a burka in order to disguise his species.
Mulder's family and friends found the whole thing extremely awkward, and maybe traumatic. They had heard a lot about Scully, but never seen her. Now they where looking at about twenty photos of her, each and every one the spitting image of Mulder's wife.
The funeral was all paid for by CI5. One of the main reasons Mulder had quit the FBI and joined the secret British agency was because if you got killed at work, they paid for your funeral. What he hadn't realised was that they would simply ignore his instructions to entomb him and Scully together in a pyramid at Cydonia, Mars.
