Chapter Twenty Six 

All of us laugh as we sat at my dining table.

"I'm telling you..since Alexander was ten he would follow Zach around everywhere, and I mean everywhere around the house."

I roll my eyes as I look around embarrassed.

Cassandra looks at my mother and then turns to smile at me.

"He was like his, little bodyguard." she adds

My mother chuckles as she covered her mouth.

"Aww." cooed Cassandra

My mother smiles, "Yes it's very cute. Those two were joined to the hip but then they sizzled as Jacklynn would soon come along."

All of our heads shift to Jacklynn as she had the spotlight.

"Cutest baby ever."

She blushes, "Aww mom."

"It's true. Always so smart too."

I nod as agreed with my mom's statement.

"So, Jacklynn...you're going to Yale..Congrats." I say

Jacklynn continues to blush and I feel nothing but proud of her. She worked hard over at that boarding school of hers that she goes to.

"Yeah..I got my welcome packet the other day and I know my roommate's name. It's a girl."

"Oo what's her name." asked Cassandra eager in her question

All of our heads turn to Jacklynn as she adjusts in her seat.

"Well..Her name is Justine and she's going to be a math major."

"Math.." I say with a disgusting tone

"Hey if she's good at it..she can get a good job in it." objects Cassandra

"But Math?"

My mother squints as she jolts her eyes at me and then looks back at Jacklynn.

"She sounds lovely. I hope you have a great time at Yale...beautiful school, beautiful state."

Jacklynn smiles as she snugs a piece of hair behind her ear

"Actually mom..I was wondering if you actually coming to my graduation?"

I dart my eyes at my mom as I listen for the answer. She looks at me unsure and then smiles.

"Of course honey...I am."

Jacklynn smiles as she nodded.

"Great because its in a couple of weeks."

I widen my eyes, "Weeks?"

Jacklynn looks at me like she just stated the obvious.

"Yes weeks."

"When does Callahan graduate in the early spring?"

Everyone looks at me and I look at them feeling dumbfounded.

"Since..forever."

I take a second, "Really?"

Jacklynn nods slowly as Cassandra looks at me like she was going laugh.

"Anyways.." says my mother breaking the awkward silence

"I'm going to go..I just wanted to stop by and see how everyone's doing."
