Chapter 5

Brooklyn's POV

I woke up to the smell of bacon. 😋

After settling in to August's house I went straight to bed.

I hopped out of bed and walked into the bathroom across the hall from the bedroom I was staying in.

I brushed my teeth and washed my face.

I then followed the smell of the food to the kitchen to see August singing and cooking some food.

He must be a good cooker because it smelled amazing in the kitchen. 😋

I sat down on the bar stool behind the counter listening to him sing.

I know how it be when you trying your best
But you turn around, and you got nothing to show for it
So you stay on your grind, tryna get to the shine
Even turn to crime, but how come I ain't made it yet?

He is a amazing singer!

When he finished singing I started clapping.

He jumped once he heard me.

"Damn girl you scared me. When did you get in here?" He asked turning around and setting the eggs on the plates.

"Like a minute ago." I said chuckling a little bit.

He sat a plate down in front of me.

"Eat up." He said pouring me a glass of orange juice.

I licked my lips. Sitting on my plate was pancakes , eggs , sausages , & cheese grits.

"Thank you." I said.

"Your welcome. There's plenty more where that came from." He said sitting Beside me with his plate in front of him.

"Oh so your a chef now?" I said.

"Yup I can cook about anything." He said.

"Well I can too so we gon have to have a little competition around here." I said.

He chuckled. "Sure."

I playfully rolled my eyes.

He doesn't know who he's messing with. My momma taught me almost everything she knows about cooking since she's a chef.

We both ate while cracking jokes and soon we were done eating.

When we were done eating we both washed the dishes and went our separate ways to our rooms.

I was now on the phone with my bestfriend Sophia.

"Are you okay?" She asked once she answered the phone.

We haven't talked in about a week.

"Yes I'm fine Sophia." I said.

"Good because I thought you were dead because Cassie said your house was broken into." Sophia said referring to my other noisy ass bestfriend Cassie.

"My house was broken into and I'm completely fine. I wasn't in the house when it happened." I said.

"Good where are you staying?" She asked.

"With a friend." I said flatly.

"Who?" She asked.

"August Alsina." I said.

When I said his name she started screaming. She was always a huge fan of him.

"Are you serious?" She asked with excitement in her voice.

"Yes I am." I said.

"You have to let me meet him." She said.

"Okay I'll let you meet him." I said.

"Thank you! Thank you!" She said blowing kisses over the phone.

I laughed. "I'll talk to you later."

"Okay byeee!" She said hanging up.

When I got off the phone August walked into the room.

"Hey Brooklyn?"He said.

"Yeah?" I asked him.

"I was wondering if you would like to go out to dinner tonight?" He asked.

"Sure." I said.

He smiled.

I was beginning to like August.
