I stare at the girl in the mirror.
The girl looks like me,
but she is a different person.
Her eyes are lifeless, full of nothingness,
she is hopeless, dreamless and empty.
Her wrists are covered in scars, and
her heart is torn and broken.
The girl in the mirror stares back at me.
Her hair is dyed black and
cut short to spite her mother.
She's too lost, too far out of reach.
Her heart tells her to love,
while her mind tells her hide.
I shatter the mirror, and watch the pieces scatter.
I know the girl in the mirror isn't me.
I want to see a girl in the mirror, I can be proud of.
