Ram walked into Tashi’s room with a bunch of red roses like he had done every day for the past 4 months. Tashi still hadn’t woken up from her coma and Ram checked on her every day and asked Angela about Tashi’s health every day. Ram went to the side of her bed and replaced the withered roses with fresh ones.

Angela was in the room, checking Tashi for any change. She was looking at the mark the glass had made on her stomach. It was nothing more than a very faint pink line. It would be gone in a few more weeks. She wrote some notes on a piece of parchment and sighed.

“Is there any change Angela?” Ram asked, looking at Tashi’s beautiful face.

“No,” she answered. “She’s exactly the same as yesterday.”

Ram sighed and sat on the edge of Tashi’s bed. He lightly stroked her cheek with the back of her hand. This was the first time he had touched her skin and it was so soft and delicate. Ram thought it would crumble if he put too much pressure on it. It was nearly 9 o’clock in the evening and Ram was feeling tired. Angela left the room telling Ram that she would be back to check her tomorrow.

Ram looked at Tashi’s peaceful face and tried really hard not to cry. Ram believed it was his fault. He should have tightened the security in the castle. He sighed quietly and pulled a blanket up to Tashi’s shoulders. He knew he was going to fall asleep any second so he laid his head on the bed beside Tashi’s body. He closed his eyes and in seconds he was snoring quietly.

Tashi was woken by the glare of a bright light. She looked around and her eyes fell on a vase with a bunch of red roses in it. There was no-one else in the room. She glanced at the calendar on the wall and was shocked to see that it was June! She had been sleeping for more than 4 months! She looked at the clock and saw that it was almost half past 8. Tashi’s stomach rumbled and she felt very hungry.

She slowly got up and stretched to get the feeling back in her body. There was some water on her bedside table. She poured out a few glasses and drank them quickly. Feeling quenched she went to her wardrobe and found a gown and jewellery to match it.

Everyone should be eating in the dining hall. I should get changed and go down there. Tashi thought. She changed and looked at her reflection in the mirror.

She was wearing a purple gown with a bordering of delicate, silver flowers entwining with each other. It was long sleeved and fell in a full skirt from her hips. She was wearing a silver choker-necklace, dangling diamond earrings and a matching diamond bracelet. She was wearing a pair of silver slippers with purple bows on her feet and she had left her hair rest, in its natural brown curls, on her shoulders.

She walked out of her room, walked to the end of the corridor and went down the long winding stairs. When she reached the bottom she turned to her left and walked down a large hallway until she reached a large set of wooden doors at the end. Two guards saw her and moved towards the doors. Tashi took a deep breath and nodded at the guards, who pulled the doors open.

There were a lot of people in the dining hall; Ram, Daniel, Lucas, Jon, Angela, King Logan and lots of guards. All of their heads turned when the doors opened. Everybody looked at Tashi like she was a ghost and there was an awkward silence. Tashi took a step forwards and everybody started moving again. All of them rushed up to Tashi and started asking her questions.

“Are you alright?” Ram asked.

“When did you wake up?” Angela said.

“Are you hurting anywhere?” Jon asked.

“Er...,” was all that Tashi could say because they all interrupted her.

“You were in a coma for 4 months, we were so worried,” King Logan said.

“We told your fellow Princesses what happened,” Daniel said.

“We still haven’t found out who did this to you. We’re sorry,” Lucas said.

Tashi stood there and waited for them to be quiet. When they realised that Tashi wasn’t saying anything, they looked at her and apologised in mumbles.

“That’s alright. I was in a coma for 4 months; I can’t blame you for worrying about me. Thank you so much for looking after me,” she said. “I’m perfectly fine. I’m quite hungry though.”

“Oh, we’re sorry Princess,” Angela said taking Tashi’s arm and leading her to the table.

Tashi sat down and the rest of them did the same. They all ate and told Tashi about what had happened while she was in the coma. When they all finished, Angela spoke.

“Tashi, you might feel a little stiff for a week or so. Your body has been in the same position for a long time and it has got used to it. You need to do plenty of exercise to get back to normal again.”

“I will,” Tashi promised her.

“We’re going horse-riding tomorrow Princess. You could come with us,” Lucas said.

“I’d love to,” Tashi said, but then she remembered something. “But... I don’t have anything practical to wear.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll find something for you by tomorrow,” King Logan said.

They all talked until the King said that he had a meeting to go to. Everyone stood up and Tashi made her way back to her bedroom to rest.
