Seaglass

I walk along the ocean shore,
Looking for something more,
Walking on a land of sand,
I walk with empty hands;

Not to far from my eyes,
I see something lying on the ground,
I smile at the item I have found;

I'm looking out for seaglass,
It's not hard to ask,
For proof that something that has been beaten down can grow to be beautiful,
Isn't it wonderful?
Proof that anything can run from a rotten past,
Scattered all over the ocean floor,
Like a crowd of people looking for something more,
Oh how I desire the beauty of seaglass;

Full of a assortment of colours,
Without it my life would be duller,
Filled with many stories,
Hidden in the waters history,
I find myself understanding the beauty of lost art;

They'll make the pieces of a broken heart,
Finding one is just the start;

It makes me feel like a child has been reborn in my heart,
I now know where to start,
I open my eyes to something they've never seen before,
Hoping it shows me more,
Of what can be found on these shores;

I'm looking out for seaglass,
It's not hard to ask,
For proof that something that has been beaten down can grow to be beautiful,
Isn't it wonderful?,
Proof that anything can run from a rotten past,
Scattered across the ocean floor,
Like a crowd of people looking for something more,
Oh how I desire the beauty of seaglass,
Oh how I desire the beauty of seaglass;
