The next morning, Hayley is having her breakfast with her family. During the breakfast, Ashley started asking some questions. "How was the party?" Hayley responds it, even she doesn't want to. "It was good, very crowded. It was like a nightclub." "Did you meet anyone in that party?" "What? No. Why would I meet someone? I know most of people at school." "I know that darling. You just don't look around." Hayley drops her fork on the table, on purpose. "Oh, please not again, mum." Then, she turns to her little brother. "Did you finnish your breakfast, Sammy." Sam nods and he and Hayley stand up and leave the house. Theodore turns to her wife. "You shouldn't push her Ashley. She just started getting better." How do you know she is? I just want her to be happy." Theodore puts his hand on her shoulder. "Our daughter will be happy, sweetie. She just needs to do this with her own. She has to stand up with her own feet." She puts her hand on his hand which is on her shoulder.

When Hayley arrives at school, Caroline runs to her. "Where have you been?" She pulls her with her arm. Hayley tries to slow her down. "What's this hurry for?" Caroline responds her. "People are looking for notes for buying it. My nots are not enough. The exam is tomorrow. We need to do this together." Hayley holds her bag and looks at Caroline. "Well, what are we waiting for?" They run to the photocopy and they copy their notes. They start selling in the cafeteria. People are getting in lines for buying notes. By the way, Ezra gets into the cafeteria, he sees the line. When he looks at it, he sees Hayley, selling notes. Someone behind him, speaks. "You are really going to impress her with this?" She shows the book Ezra carrying with her hand. Ezra responds Sydney. "I told you, she is really tough, and broken. I need time." Sydney comes next to him. "Well, even it is okay for me, it won't be for the guardians, you have to make this quick, you know." Ezra turns to Sydney. "I'm telling you Sydney, it is not really easy. I need sone time." "If it really takes a long time, you have to find someone else. Someone you will not go too hard on her." "We don't have to do that. I got this." "If you say so." Sydney leaves. Ezra turns and looks at Hayley. He realizes she looks at her. How long she has been doing that?

After the selling is over, Caroline and Hayley starts counting money. Jared helps them by taking notes of the money. While they are counting, Hayley asks them about Katie. "Habe you heard any news about Katie?" Jared responses her. "I called her, but she did not respond it." Hayley thinks about her best friend. "Maybe we should visit her after school." Caroline and Jared try to find excuses as quickly as possible. "My uncle and his family is coming tonight. We will have dinner all together as a family." "My father and I are going to fix the kitchen." Hayley looks at them, raising one of her eyebrows, she does not believe in their excuses exactly, but she behaves she did. "Allright, I'll go by myself, after school." After this conversation, they continue counting the money. They finnish the counting. "Wow, this time we made a lot of money, we are really back on those days." "We really did." "So, what are we going to do with that money? We used to use this money with our common aim. Do we have any needs?" The three thinks about what they need, a silence goes between them. After a long time, they talk. "I don't think I need something." "Me neither." "Yeah, me neither." An idea comes to Hayley's mind. "What if we start collecting it?" Caroline and Jared looks at her. Hayley starts explaining. "This is the last year of our high school, you know and university applications have already begun. We can start collecting money for our university education." Jared and Caroline listens her, opening their mouth, shocked. Hayley looks at them, unknowingly. "What?" Caroline answers her, excited voice. "What have they done to you my girl? You are not even the old you, anymore." "What are you talking about? I'm still same." Hayley gets her bag and stands up. "I'm really not going to listen this again. Keep the money. We'll talk about it tomorrow." Hayley leaves the group.

After school, Hayley goes to Katie's house. She knocks the door. Willow opens the door. "I came to see your sister, darling." Willow steps back to let her in. "She's upstairs." Hayley gets into the house and goes upstairs. She knocks Katie's door. Katie shouts. "Go away. I don't want to see anyone." "Katie. It's name, Hayley." A couple of silent seconds later, Katie opens the door. "Are you really here?" "I am Katie." Katie opens the door and lets her in.

Hayley gets in and sits on a chair. Katie sits back on her bed. Hayley asks her, worried for her best friend. "How are you feeling?" Katie responds her with her wide eyes, still shocked. "Surprised. That you are here. For two years you have been thinking nothing but yourself." Hayley makes an explanation about this. "You guys always tell me that I should carry on. That's what I'm doing right now. Nevermind about me. The situation is you right now." "I'm feeling foolish, of course. I thought I was going fast. Then, he was the one who goes faster than me." "I am really glad you realized the truth, that you are not together with him." "Why did you say that?" "He is an alien, because." "So what?" "Are you really asking me that?" "Look, I know you are really mad at them, but they are here right now. Being mad will not send them back. You should get used to living with them." Hayley stands up quickly, angry, and broken. Even she starts carrying on her life, her heart is still broken. She gets close to Katie. "Carrying on my life does not mean I will get used to live with them. I will never forget they took the ove of my life, and whatever you guys say, I will always hate them." Katie stands up too, uppers her sound. "Then don't blow this to us everytime and remind us what they are. Keep your thoughts with yourself." Hayley gets her bag from the floor. "You know what? I shouldn't have come here." Katie holds her arm. "Hayley, look. I understand you but..." "Understand? How would you understand me? Did you lose the love of your life?" "I lost my parents during that war. We all lost something." "And you are forgiving them very quickly. That's why it is so easy to fool you." Hayley gets her arm back and leaves. Katie feels upset, humiliated because of what Hayley said.
