We Shall Remember

43 4 5

From the red light of the dawn,

To the daylight time of morn.

When at work or when at school,

Or at home where we play fool.

As we daydream all the time,

As we write ourselves this rhyme,

We Shall Remember.

From the valleys to the tops,

Where there's desert or rain drops.

From the seats of power, the crown,

To the people furthest down.

In the shadows of their graves,

On the largest of war plains,

We Shall Remember.

From the people of the time,

Or the unborn child of thine.

From those alone, riding free,

To those close-knit families.

From those flying in the air,

To those "au bord de la mer",

We Shall Remember.
