That Girl (A Sonnet)

Because it is so much easier to write about girls than boys.

The teenage girl with the small button nose,

With limpid, ebony eyes which do stare,

And curvéd lips which are shaded rose,

These are the features which do ensnare.

This is the girl whom I fancy so much,

The girl who centres my universe,

But e'en so, with many a desp'rate clutch,

With her friends she will always immerse.

This girl has trapped me for over five years

But she never will notice me, ne'er has.

I've been in her classes and heard with my ears,

That she doesn't know me - would not have guessed as.

So after five years of my love life gone wrong,

Now how I feel is revealed in this song.
