His Side Of The Story

Rise my people, rise to the fatherland’s call!

For years we had suffered, our heads had not hung tall.

They divided us, they tore us apart

It’s time for Germany to take her vengeance for the wound that scarred her heart!

Rise my people, the sons of Germany,

Eliminate the traitors that put her in agony!

And in our book of glory, sub-humans shall not be named,

Since their blood is tainted, it wouldn't be us who they shamed.

We shall put society in order, everyone where they should be:

Women at home, while men do great things for generations to see!

Our economy shall rise like a skyscraper tearing through the velvet night

And there it shall stay, roaring with might!

Rise my people, our brotherhood shall mend,

The bond between Germany and Austria will never end.

No Britain, France or Russia can stand in our way,

We’ll reclaim what we lost, and part of the mainland they shall stay.

Rise my people, a new era is about to dawn,

The German Empire will rule and never shall it be gone!

before you say anything, this was a history homework of mine. The assignment was that each volunteered student would write a poem describing how World War 2 started from the point of view of the infamous Adolf Hitler. This piece got featured on the school magazine so I thought it wold be good enough to go on here. And matches the topic of the collection too, a glimpse inside the fascist genius' mind, his side of the story.
