I’m the angel of darkness,
The freeze and the burn,
The silence and the pain,
The hell and the heaven.
I creep beneath the walls,
I fly across the battlefields,
Sensing every shivering souls,
Stroke their backs with my icy fingers
And break them free from the chains of life.
Remember all those nightmares,
All the threats and horrors?
Let your mind drift away
To the land of walking shadows…
I’m the guard between Earth and Hell,
The messenger who leads you through the gate of time…
It’s cruel how they describe me
For bringing the tears of sorrow,
But in truth I am the forsaken hero
Saving you from the lying, mortal world.
The prayers at night,
The cries in darkness,
The white-out of your life,
The full-stop to your sentence…
Hush, I will protect you,
No need for tears or whimpers and cries.
Come to me, I will cover you
Under my midnight black cloak
Of Death.

I found this while spring cleaning my hard disk. Probably one of the first poems I've ever written, at the age of 10. Let's just say, I gave the teacher a little scare ;)
