SOrry for the long wait!!! I know I write this every time. I have really bad writers block when it comes to sequels, I don't know why, but again I'm super sorry!

When I wasn't thinking about my new beta training I was thinking about Cross. All I wanted to do was go and be with him. It's like I have no control over my thoughts when I start thinking about them. I usually have my block up because thoughts of him are always right there. We don't know who Cross is. I don't know who he is. I don't know why he's here or anything. I just know that he's my mate for sure, and I can't be with him. Not yet at least.
I stepped out of my room in the pack house and shuffled to the bathroom. It's been a week since the Alpha was murdered and Jace came into rein. Every single pack member is at the pack house. He doesn't want any of us to be seperated which I don't blame him. Who knows who killed the Alpha and who knows who could be next? I feel safer here. I don't want to be at my house, especially when my mom and dad are always out looking for the murderer nowadays.
I could hear argueing coming from Kadens room, only a few doors down. It sounded like him and his dad, or maybe it was Jace. More likely his dad. His dad took pride in the fact that Kaden was going to be the beta, which was stripped from him. And on top of that Kaden has a human mate, which only makes his predicament worse for him. I want to feel bad for him, but he's treated me like shit since he told everyone we were mates and I just don't have it in me to feel bad.
I brushed my teeth and pushed the hair back that was suppost to be in a messy bun then left the bathroom. I went downstairs and to the kitchen. As soon as I got there though, a nagging feeling came over me. It was more annoying then anything else. It wasn't like something was wrong, more just that it was bugging me. My wolf part was bugging me.
~Emily, can you come to my office?~ Jace's voice went through my head. It held the alpha authority that it never had before. I mean, yeah, he always had the aura, the his voice now. It was stronger more authroitive.
~Yupp. Be there in a sec~ I replied. I finished my juice and rinsed the cup, then went back up the steps. I wasn't really dressed for a meeting. I was still in my pajama shorts and a tank top, but whatever the alpha wanted I was there.
I knocked on the door twice letting him know I was coming in then swung the door open. My wolf started going haywire. Stupid wolf. I looked at Jace even though I felt like I NEEDED to look somewhere else.
" Emily, this is Cross. He wants to join the pack. Cross this is my second, Emily. " Jace said. As soon as his name came out of his mouth my stomache started to flutter uncontrollably. My eyes flicked to Cross who was sitting in the comfy leather chair across from Jace. He was looking me over though. His dark eyes lingered on every inch of my body until they stopped on my face, which I knew from the burning in my cheeks was a nice tomato red.
" Nice to meet you. " I ground out. He nodded.
" You too. "
" Can you go get Ronny? I want our Luna's opinion. And yours. We'll make a decision when my mate gets here. " Jace said, looking from me to Cross. Confusion flashed across his face for one second before he composed himself again. I nodded and headed out of the room. Oh god! How is possible that one second in the same room as him and I feel completely rejuvinated? It doesn't make any sense.
I walked across the hall to Ronny and Jace's room and knocked on the door then stepped in. She was passed out on their huge king sized bed. I walked over and jumped on it, making her jump in surprise.
" Morning. Jace sent me to get you cuz we need to make a decision on the new guy who wants to be part of the pack. " I muttered. Maybe we could be together if he's part of the pack. I mean, he said we couldn't be together, but now we can. He's here.
" Who is he? " she asked sleepily.
" Cross. My mate. "
She gasped and shot up right. " Oh my god! Of course he's going to stay! Are you going to tell Jace? Cuz I'm pretty sure that once you find your mate you're suppost to inform my hot alpha mate. " she grinned, but I frowned at her.
" I can't. Not yet at least. I mean, I don't even know if he wants to be with me. "
She stared at me like I was an idiot. " Of course he wants to be with you! "
" Not all mates are like you and Jace you know. " I pointed out. " Mates have to accept eachother. Neither one of us even acknowledges that we're mates. "
She frowned. " Well, maybe now you two can talk. " she got up off the bed and went into their bathroom, then came out a few minutes later. Together we went to the office. When we went in she shot me a look, sorta like ' DAAAMN he's hot! ' which of course he is, but still she has a mate, a mate who noticed her look and was now glaring at the floor. It was sorta cute that he got jealous like that. I want that! Ugh, stupid mate drama!
" Ronny this is Cross. Cross this is my mate and the Luna of the pack. " He tipped his head respectfully as Ronny looked him over then looked me over and nodded, like she thought we'd make a good couple. " We'll have to talk everything over, why don't you come back at 5 o'clock? " Jace went on.
" Okay, that's fine. " he stood up out of the chair and nodded to all of us. " Thank you for your time and consideration. " he said and stepped out of the office closing the door behind him. It was like someone let the oxygen back into the room. Like I could breath again. Thank god!
" Soooo, what do you two think? " Jace asked, looking between me and Ronny.
" He has to stay no doubt about it. " Ronny said immeditly. Jace stared at her confused. I love Ronny to death and I'm really glad that she's making sure he stays, but shes just getting herself into more trouble with her mate.
" What about you Em? "
I cleared my throat. " He looks strong, like he would be a good fighter, and we can always use more of them. He could help us out, you know? " I said. It was reasonable. Cross did look strong, like he could take care of himself in a fight, which I'm sure he could.
" That's true, especially after everything that happened with my dad. We need stronger wolves to help protect us. " he agreed. " So we're all in agreement that he can stay? " We both nodded. " Okay then, I'll have Ulga get a room together for him. I think the only one open for one person is the one down the hall from you Em. "
I cringed. Ugh, that was the only one left. I don't want him so close though. Who knows what could happen! " Okay, " I ground out. " I'm going to go for a run. "
" Stick close to the house please. " Jace said, looking at me intently. I nodded and went out of the office and back downstairs then out the back door. My wolf just needs to relax and the best way to do that is to run a little bit. Maybe I could help pick up a scent of something. . .
