New chapter!! Yay! :) Im sorry i take so long at uploading this story :/ i have such writers block when it comes to sequals, but it couldn't just end! Jace:
I woke up out of a very nice dream at my dads panicked voice screaming at the entire pack to get up. I shot straight up when I heard it and listened harder for more voices. My mom was panicked too as she tried getting through to Ronny's parents. Something's wrong. Really wrong.
I gently shook Ronny awake. We needed to go to the pack house like now. We both got up as fast as we could and got dressed.
~what's going on?~ Emily's voice went through my ears like a shard of glass it was so high and frightened it was awful
~We don't know yet Em~ I said. Ronny looked at me confused. We did know what was going on. My parents were under attack. I could feel it with every inch of my soul, but I was blocking that part from everyone else but Ronny, she's my mate, wife my world, I would never keep any of my thoughts from her.
" What are we going to do? We don't even know where they are " Ronny said as we got into my mustange.
" They're probably behind the pack house. We don't usually go too far from there. Only to patrol. " I said. Ronny was gripping my hand like her life depended on it.
We got there in a little less then ten minutes and jumped out running into the house together, just as they brought in my mom and dad. I could see my mom breathing raggedly, but I couldn't even tell if my dad was breathing. Ronny let out a sob and I went to my dad, feeling for a pulse but feeling nothing.
" What the hell happened?! " I demanded of Ronny's dad. My dad was dead. oh god, he's gone.
" We don't know Alpha, he was screaming for help, but when we got there your Luna was holding him sobbing. He was already gone."
He called me Alpha. Oh god, I'm alpha of the entire pack now. My dad was murdered. Killed.
" What should we do Alpha? " he asked.
" Locate a scent, follow it, but don't attack, just figure out who it was first and don't stop until you figure it out. Bring our best fighters just in case. " I said. I tried thinking if that was what my dad would do, it sounded reasonable enough. That's what he would do right?
" Yes alpha. " he said, nodding respectfully. It was kinda weird having my father in law call me Alpha and do what I said, but I didn't have time for that.
" Get the pack doctor here! I want immediate and constant monitoring for my mom! " I snapped. One of the female wolves nodded and took off trying to find the doctor.
~Emily, Kaden, get to the pack house now, we need to have a meeting~ I told them, but Kaden's block was up which just irritated me more.
~Yes alpha~ Emily said.
~ Emily don't. I'm Jace to you alright.~ I hated the title. I wanted to inherit it when I was ready not forced.
~I'm sorry Jace.~ she whispered
~not your fault~
I blocked her then and went over to Ronny who was cleaning my moms face. Her own face was tear stained. I hugged her to me. She makes me feel better. I didn't want to take over this pack, but if I had to, like I do, I want her to be right here with me.
" I love you so much. " she said.
" I love you too. "
"Alpha, I think you should call a meeting with everyone, not everyone knows what happened" my dads second said.
I nodded. " You do it, I need to just be left alone for a second."
" Yes sir. " he hurried off and I looked at the doctor as she came in and examined her.
" Well? "
" She's in a coma. I don't know how long she has Jace. She's not hurt in any way, it's probably just from the heartache of losing your dad. She's heartbroken. Alot of people who lose their mates, don't live very long after. I know you don't need to hear such bad news. I just want you to be prepared. " I put my elbows on my knees and then my face into my hands. How am I suppost to run a pack. How am I suppost to just sit here and watch her die. I need her. I need both my parents. I can't lose them now.
Ronny wrapped her arms around me. " you'll get through this Jace. Don't give up on everything okay? I'm right here with you okay? " she whispered. I nodded slightly.
" Everyone's ready. " someone said. Ronny pulled me up and kissed my cheek then pulled me down the hall. We were almost to the huge gathering room when I tried to get Kaden again, but got nothing. And then I started to panic.
I stopped a few feet from the door. " I can't do this. " I said. Ronny put both her hands on either side of face.
" You CAN do this Jace. I promise you can. " her eyes sliced into mine with determination and enough strength for the both of us. I nodded and then went in to tell them all what happened. Not that I even knew what exactly happened.
Emily:
After the meeting me, Ronny, and Jace were sitting in the living room. His mom was upstairs now and we were just simply sitting there. The whole pack was heartbroken. His dad was such an amazing alpha and now he was gone. None of us are ready to take over. But I have to say that Jace is doing a really good job so far.
The door opened and Kaden walked in, a small smile on his stupid face. I turned and looked at Ronny, completely annoyed. As soon as Jace saw him though he was on his feet and he pushed Kaden into the wall.
" What the hell?! " Kaden snapped.
" Where the hell have YOU been?! " Jace demanded, making Kaden flinch.
" I was out. "
" Out where? I've been trying to get a hold of you! My dads dead and where were you for the meeting? Off playing around with some HUMAN! " Jace snapped. Kaden blushed and looked down. Sooooo his mates a human. No wonder he said it was me. He didn't want to look weak.
" I was a Haily Whin's house." he said quietly. Haily Whin?! Oh my god. The little nerdy girl. She has those turtle shell glasses and she wears these hideous sweaters, but she's really nice and would look pretty if she tried to dress nice.
" Why? You're mate's right here! " Jace growled.
" Emily's not my mate... Haily is. "
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don't have to act like it anymore! God if today wasn't such an awfully sad day I'd be jumping for joy right now.
Jace stared at him for a minute " Why did you have your block up? "
" I didn't want to be disturbed while I was with my mate. " Kaden growled.
" Really? Well, you're stripped of your rank. " Everyone and I mean EVERYONE in the room gasped. Jace turned to me. " Emily, your going to be the new second in command. I want you to train for that instead, since you actually answer when you're contacted. " I stared at him shocked. ME? How am I going to be the Beta! No girl is ever the Beta! I can barely even handle being the third!
I looked at Ronny for some help here, but she just looked at me, clearly as shocked as I was. I mean, Kaden didn't deserve to be Beta, if he can't even come to a meeting saying the Alpha was dead, but that doesn't mean I deserve to be. Someone else should be. Not me.
" Jace. . . I---"
" No arguements. It's done. " he said and walked out. Leaving us all standing there staring at eachother. Ronny left quickly after, and me not being able to stand being in the same room as Kaden left and went home. This is offically the worst day in the world.
