Emily:
I pulled away from Kaden, who was now asleep on the couch and went into the kitchen, leaning against the counter. It doesn't make sense. I don't feel about him the way a mate should. Like how Ronny and Jace feel about eachother, you can see their connection, but it's like me and Kaden are just faking it. We barely talk when we're alone, and it's just awkward. That's why I don't even mind that he doesn't want to get married. I can't stand to be around here. I don't even know if we're mates. I shifted right after him, but he didn't come to me right after he shifted, he didn't, I know he didn't. And not only that but some really hot guy came up to me not even a day before I shifted myself. I shifted only an hour later, once I got home thank god.
But I can't forget him. His brown waves and green eyes, he had definately been a werewolf, but he wasn't part of our pack, I would have remembered him. But I can't get him out of my head. When I'm with Kaden, I think of him. I don't even know his name!
" Hey Emily! " Kadens mom came through the back door happily. Her black hair was pulled back into a wavy pony tail. She was pretty.
" Hey " I smiled a little embarressed. It's a good thing we can't hear eachothers thoughts in human form, I'd be kicked out of here already.
" What are you doin'? Where's Kaden? " she asked.
" He's asleep, you know second in training business " I said
" He's always asleep when you're here, I have half a mind to smack him awake "
" Oh, no, it's fine really. I completely understand, I'm in training too so we don't really get alot of rest " I don't want him woken up! Seriously, I'll be blamed for that, no doubt.
" When's Ronny and Jace coming back? Those two are just adorable together " she said.
" A couple more days " I'm counting them down. I really need to talk to Ronny about this all. It's not normal and I can't talk to Kaden about it, then everyone will find out. I don't want Jace and Kaden knowing. I'll tell Jace soon enough, since he's becoming Alpha in only a few months, but I'm afraid to tell Kaden. What if he thinks I'm crazy or something? That really wouldn't be good. Not for anybody, when we fight it's really bad.
" That's good, I hope they're having fun, where'd they go again? "
" Italy " I muttered. I want to go to Italy. Jeez, I could totally go for some pizza from the place it originated.
" Wow, lucky kids " she said walking away. God, she'd hate me if she knew my thoughts about her son. About my apparent mate. I just don't know.
Jace:
I was laying on the bed in our hotel room waiting for Ronny to get ready. She was running around the room like a mad woman, trying to find an outfit. Everything she put on had been fine, but she apparently didn't think so.
" Okay, how 'bout this? " she asked standing in front of me. I didn't really even look at her outfit, only her pretty face.
" It looks fine, just like all the others. Can we go? I'm hungry and we're gonna miss our reservation " I said impatiently.
" Jeez, lets go " she grabbed my arm in attempt to lift me up. I grinned and pulled her down with me. I kissed her temple and then her lips " I thought you were hungry? " she said laughing.
" I am, lets go " I rolled off the bed and pulled her up. She had a short dress on and looked amazing. " Oh yeah, definately this one " I smirked.
" Your such a player "
" Hey, I am a married man, married to the most beautiful girl I've ever seen " I said grinning. " I'm not really hungry anymore "
" Oh no? " she asked looking at me amused.
" Nope " I pulled her to me by her waist and kissed her, then lifted her up and put her back onto the bed.
Emily:
" How am I suppost to lead? What are the chances of Jace, Ronny, and Kaden all being out of town? " I asked. My dad was trying to make me deal with something under pressure. But really what are the chances?
He sighed, getting annoyed " It happens alot actually. Jace could bring both of them and leave you in charge, you have to deal with this stuff Emily "
" Oh, well, how was I suppost to know that? "
" Emily, please just listen to your father " my mom begged.
" We're done for today anyways " he said. Finally, jeez. I can't deal with these fake situations. Give me a real situation and I'll fix it, I've always been like that. Except for this Kaden situation, I don't even know how to begin with that.
" I'm goin' for a run " I said, heading for the woods.
" Be careful! " my mom called after me. I nodded waving to them and went through the trees to shift. I'm just going for a run, it's not like the Silver Pack is anywhere close. They haven't been around since the last battle. They'll be back though, they just went to lick their wounds.
Plus I don't want to be here when Kaden comes. At the wedding we were perfect, but it was for show, I'm so sick of pretending. I want to find my real mate. I don't want to be with an imposter. I need to find him
and see if he's my mate, because I know Kaden's not.
