Quensilla's POV

"I'm done." I breathe happily. My fingers were cramped and I was utterly satisfied by how they felt. I was working.

Smiling, I lean back and admire the newly organized list, but ofcourse, the door brushes open and everything goes flying to the ground, in a disorganized mess.

"I thought I told you I wanted them organized?" Theodore stands and I gape.

"It is!" I yell.

"That doesn't look very organized." He deadpans and I cough, trying to control my anger.

"Because you just came in with your busy self knocking them down! Can't you knock?!" I stand, bending to pick up the files.

"Its my company, I don't need to knock." He says lowly and as soon as I stand he's pressed against me. I jump away throwing him a look. He only grabs my hand and pulls me to him.

"Theodore." I warn.

"My name still sounds good on your lips." He murmurs lowly.

"This is supposed to be professional."

"Tell me Quensilla why'd you just up and leave?" He says out of the blue and I grit my teeth.

"Nows not the time for reminiscing." I try to pull my hand away but his grip was tight as he peered down at me.

"You've really grown." He smirks and I scoff.

"I have work to do."

"Work can wait."

"Let me go Theodore." I snap and he takes a moment before releasing me.

"How about dinner?"

"How about no?"

Where's the boss that I had only a few hours ago?

"Oh right have to return to your daughter?" He asks bitterly and I stiffen, the files weren't that disorganized, I would finish in no time.

"Exactly."

"Where's the father?" He tilts his head leaning against the door.

"None of your business." I look at him sternly. "Listen to me, I am your employee, you ate my employer. Nothing more. I don't think these personal questions have anything to do with my job so I would appreciate it if you stop asking them."

His eyes harden and for a second I feel my confidence wander off piece by piece.

"Very well." He says curtly. "You have thirty minutes to deliver these to my desk. Nothing more."

He then leaves and I breathe a sigh of relief, willing the reoccurring butterflies and wild heartbeats to settle down.

The rest of the day was peaceful. We never had any bumps, I was his worker, he was my boss and that's how we rolled.

I got a lot done and thankfully, he let me go early since today was my last day.

"And Ms. James?" I turn on my heel looking at him and he tilts his head.

"No one talks to me like that. Ever." He basically growls and I gulp nodding. He dismisses me and I'm skipping out at six.

From what I see he sells land. So I'm guessing I'm working at a realtor. I really need to ask some questions.

After driving my beaten up car home, I swing open the door and Daniella comes running towards me.

"Hi baby." I greet happily lifting her and she giggles.

"Did you get the job?" She queries and I grin.

"I did."

"Finally." She mutters smiling and I give a breathy laugh.

"I know."

"Hello hoe!" Penelope grins and I roll my eyes.

Two years of trying to stop here from saying that word in front of your kid, its kinda hard.

"I got the job." I release Daniella as she asks to be put down and squeal as Penelope does the same.

"Finally. Tequila to celebrate?" She sings loudly and I snort.

"Wait there's more."

"Oo." She sits on the old couch, her hand under her chin.

"Remember Theodore?" Her face hardens.

"Mhm.."

"He's my boss."

"What?!" She screams shooting up. "Quit."

"Penelope-"

"I can pay for you, me, Daniella and still have money for after life. Quitt."

"You know I love you but I can't do that. I want to be independent."

Penelope was my best chocolate friend. Lauren moved on with her life and I haven't heard from her in ages.

Penelope had these bright green eyes, and natural frizzy hair. Her curves were so unreal, and unlike me, when she sat down, her stomach didn't look like it was trying to sit on top of itself.

She was beautiful.

But she was mean and ratchet.

"Independent my two big buns alright? There are many other businesses, um like my dad's that would accept you."

"I would rather work for it than you telling your dad to let me work for him."

"How are you so sure that he didn't accept you because he's trying to get back in your pants?"

"First! He was never in my pants! And second, it's not like that, we've moved on."

"Ehhh!" She says loudly, mimicking the (X, you're wrong sound.) "You ain't over him. Let's bet in the next months you gone tell me he got you pregnant."

"What! Penelope no!" I nearly choke on my saliva.

"Girl. Issa man, he's gonna be all over your huge boobies and oversized ass."

"Penelope-"

"I swear its like you actually had Daniella expanding your body. Jeezus."

"You're not that small you know!" I retort and she gapes.

"I work hard to maintain this alright woman!"

Its true, if she wasn't here or working? She was at the gym.

"Ugh just go home." I murmur.

"Keep ya legs closed, that's all. I know its been awhile."

I'm just so happy that Daniella was probably playing with her dolls somewhere.

"Let's go shopping, we need to get you some outfits."

"For what?"

"So we can make him wish that he never even uttered the word 'leave'."
