Poem 1

Many things in life is like a mountain when going climbing during a snowstorm.

At the bottom it's easier to climb, others can give you a lift and a head start on the long journey ahead.

Eventually when you get past their reach it's you, climbing tools and the elements

As you get further up it gets easier.

You've grown accustomed to the cold that you think it's comfortable, not exactly ideal but tolerable

But you're at your most vulnerable

That unexpected gust of wind makes you lose your footing/holdings

It takes nearly everything you have to stay up

Your mind races asking what the hell are you doing? Are you crazy? You're going to die keeping this up, and many things along those lines

Those without experience fall right back down, listened to their mind, and started over, few are lucky to get help to begin once more
The rest are left alone and told to figure it out

As you keep going higher and higher things get harder

The air starts thinning, it gets colder to the point where your body tells you to give up and get comfortable back at the bottom

Things are better down there, It's less work to stay down than to keep ascending, Let go. And everything will be fine

But you think you see the summit and keep going despite everything

Despite the cold, your numb hands and feet, the slippery terrain, your own mind, body and soul disagreeing

going

Before you know it you've reached the top

You smile and cry tears of joy happy it's over

You relish in your accomplishment that you beat your demons

But always watch your back

You never know what's lurking to put you back at the bottom

And will mock you for trying again

Hey y'all. This is my new poetry book. It's not going to be very consistent. I'll write and post when I have a poem to put out. If you have any suggestions for titles leave them at the bottom and the best one gets a mention and that is the new title name. Hope yall liked it.
