I looked out at the dark buildings and bright lights. The brightness hurt my eyes.

As if I didn't have enough pain, I thought myself. I felt my teeth with my tongue, feeling each one, then, circling around my daggers.

You'd think after 10 years I would be used to them by now.

I stood up from the kneeling position I was in on the edge of the roof and walked to the other side. I took a deep breath and jolted forward. The moment I reached the highest point of my jump off the building it seemed like time, itself, was holding its breath for me. Then everything started happening again. As I felt the air brush through my hair and face I waited 2 seconds then changed my direction, gliding up rather than continue my drop. Flying through the night sky, I looked to the clouds. This scene was serene, something I could never again feel. I knew where I had to go and what I had to do. The wind rushed through the bottom of my coat as I changed direction again. Now I was heading diagonally down toward my right gliding over a small schoolyard. As I got closer to my target, I started to hear voices.

"Please, here's my wallet. You could have anything you want, just don't hurt me." The man said, cowardly.

When the creature across from him started to bolt toward him, he started to turn to run. Once the creature was a foot from the man my boots found him. The dark vampire I knew as Gargoyle went flying into the shadow coated alley wall then fell on the nasty silver garbage cans below where he had hit.

"Blue Eyes.” Gargoyle hissed. “Stay out of this!”

“Oh, but it’s so much more fun to intervene.”

He bolted toward me. As he lifted his hand preparing to scratch at me with his nails, I simply grabbed his wrist and through him backwards. He growled and came at me once more. This time I just jumped over him.

"You know you’re never going to beat me."

Gargoyle turned and looked around. The man had run off. Gargoyle had lost.

                "You cost me my dinner."

"He wasn't your dinner either way."

                "Hiss. You'll pay for that."

He lunged towards me and as he did I tried to jump over him again, but this time use able to grab my ankle and toss me into the wall.

                "Shouldn't have done that."

I flew toward him with incredible speed, took my sword in hand, and stabbed him in the leg. Then, after hearing him yell, I twisted the blade that was still in his leg.
