August 18 1966

Pattie and Cynthia both came to visit Amelia who was feeling a bit sorry for herself. They quickly cheered her up and we asked to keep the noise down for the other patients on multiple occasions. However, she knew that she would have to soon leave for Boston the following day so she managed to get some rest.

Nevertheless, she felt immensely better but still couldn't help but feel nervous for the next shows to come. Only a week to go, she reminded herself every day. The managed to get onto the plane and soon arrived. The security had arranged a more orderly exit for the band so it wasn't as crowded this time. However, it didn't stop the paparazzi from creeping in and so Paul sheltered her with his jacket knowing she didn't to be photographed in the state she was in.

"Thank you for doing that Paul" she said holding his hand for what he did earlier.

"No problem love. How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Paul you've asked me that about twenty times in the last half hour, yes I'm fine!" She said laughing.

"Sorry Lia, it's just... I care about you a lot" he said.

"I know and I truly appreciate it" she said resting her head on his shoulder.

They soon arrived to a hotel in Boston, it was only a short stay as they were doing one show and had to fly the same evening. This time to Memphis. Before she and the boys knew it, it was time for the show. She stood with Paul like she did before every performance and calmed him down.

Again, she and everyone else was sure the show was a triumph. It's just that nobody could actually here it. Amelia had felt the urge to shout at the audience for not listening but she knew they'd never hear her over the volume. John, Paul, George, Ringo and the rest of the crew had a quick rest in the dressing room then packed ready to leave.

They all got on a plane and headed to Memphis. It was safe to say that it was the craziest few weeks of Amelia's life and she knew she'd never forget it. She had taken more pictures in the dressing room but need to take some of them on stage which meant leaving the safety of the backstage area and going out in the open. She decided to focus the photographs of them performing in one specific place which was New York.

But for now they were suddenly in Cincinnati. Paul was getting ready to leave while Amelia rummaged around for her purse.

"It's got to be here somewhere" she said looking under the bed "Paul just go with out me, I'll catch up I don't want you to be late".

"No! You'll get mobbed out there I want you to be safe" he said firmly.

She kept looking and finally saw what looked like her purse from across the room and under a chair in the hotel room. As she flung it out from underneath, a picture flew out onto the floor. Amelia picked it up carefully as it was an image she loved very deeply.

It was of her family back in Brighton. Her Mother, Father, David, Lisa, her Grandmother and herself. All they special people in her life were in one photograph, except for Paul of cause but she had a separate photograph of him from the first time they talked back in '63. Without realising, a small tear fell from her left eye and couldn't help but feel sad and homesick. She hadn't seen her family in nearly a month. Amelia felt bad that she didn't take the time to think about them properly or give them a call. She was too busy and couldn't possibly have time to do such a thing. She missed them immensely.

"Have you found it yet?" Paul asked still looking in the other room.

She sniffed and wiped her tears away "Yes. Let's go" and they left without him noticing a thing.
