~ Chapter Eight ~

~ EVAN ~

I know it's going to take at least two hours for Kristi to get back, and it's only been half an hour. So, to that I say, it's so boring by myself! I have to say, I miss her, even though it sounds cheesy. I'm admitting myself to only myself, so no one else knows my feeling but me. And now I'm talking to myself. But that's okay, because I'm bored!

"Might as well do something." I said out of nowhere. "But what am I going to do? I could call Derek over to keep me busy. I think I'll do just that."

But what's his cell? I'll try Kristi's home phone number. He might still be there.

*Ring-ring--Ring-ring.* "Hello?" a dark, husky, familiar voice answered.

"Hey, Kristi's dad? It's Evan."

"Call me Dante. What's up?"

"What's your wife's name? I'm just curious."

"Lilly. What are your parents' names?"

"Jessica is my mom, and Clint is my dad. Anyway, is Derek still there?"

"No, he left about 20 minutes ago. Why?"

"Oh. Do you, by chance, know his cell phone number?"

"No. I don't know why, but Jake does."

"Ah. Could you put him on the phone?"

"Uh, Sure. Hold on."

"Yeah?" a different male voice stated/asked. Jake sounds tired. Or bored.

"Uh...Um...Argh! I just totally forgot what I wanted to ask. Sorry. Bye."

"Okay? Bye." I hung up after that. I actually didn't forget what I wanted to ask. You're probably wondering why I acted like I did, then.

Simple.

I wanted to hang out with some friends I met at a mall, instead. 5, to be exact. 4 are boys, so that leaves the last one to be a girl. I kinda feel bad for her. Oh well. I'll call one of them to ask if they could come over.

Lets see... what was their phone number again? Oh yeah!

*Beep-beep-beep--Beep-beep-beep--Beep-beep-beep-beep. Ring-ring--Ring-ring.*

"Matt here." he started out with.

"Hey, Matt! It's Evan!"

"Hey--Wait, who again?"

I heard a slap on the back of the head and a, "Idiot! We met him at a mall a few weeks back!" kinda sounds like Morris.

"Oh yeah! That guy!" Matt remembered.

"Morris?" I asked, just to be sure.

"Morris," he confirmed.

"Kinda figured."

"So, what's up?"

"SO BORED! Want to come here for a surprise birthday party for my girlfriend?"

"Sure, where you at?"

"East Side Hotel, Rusk, Idaho."

"Okay. See ya in about an hour. Bye."

"Bye." so, it's going to take about 2 hours for Kristi to get back, one hour for my friends to get here, therefore, that leaves me with one hour alone, and one hour with my group of friends (obviously).

Now, the question is, what am I going to do for an hour? Could always read. Nah. Chores? None needed. Draw? Not very good at it. TV? Don't have one. I could go out and get one, along with furniture. Alright! Sounds like a plan.
