Prologue
Two dark figures stood in the dark, standing in front of a buzzing machine. The first man had two wires in each fist. One red, the other, blue.
"Its time", he murmured. The second man beside him shifted uncomfortably.
"Are you sure?" He whispered. "Children can be unpredictable. Are you sure they are the right choices?"
The first mans gaze darkened.
"Are you doubting my abilities?" he challenged. "These six children will complete their given task, and fix our mistakes.
The second man ducked his head. "Yes sir." he agreed. The first man smiled.
"Now, what we have all been waiting for......." Slowly, he drew his hands together, connecting the two wires.
The machine buzzed and crackled and came to life. His grin looked eerie under the yellow light from the machine, revealing the ugly scar that ran down his left eye. He looked to his assistant.
"Would you like to do the honors?"
The second man nodded eagerly. His hand reached for the green button on the far left.
Beep.
