chapter 1

The sun that entered through the window car made me fell sleepy

I had spent more tan three hours travelling since i left the airport and i had not been able to sleep through the whole way.

I was pretty sure that when i reach my new home i would lay down and fall asleep immediately.

Yes, new house.

My mother had decided to move after the death of my father some moths ago, so here i was now, in North Carolina. She was sure that this was the best way to start a new beginning, forgetting all the problems we had in the past.

- Charlotte- my mother said while she parked the car outside - we’ve arrived.

As i get out of the car i looked at my new house. The truth is that it was really beautiful, with pale blue wood through it and big windows..

I walked up the stairs of the front porch and I opened the door, staying outside. It wasn’t as old as I had imagined. It had that exotic essence, special, magical. And it was at the outskirts of the village we just drove by. Great!

- Mum! I’m going to see the rooms- I shouted so that she could hear me from the car.

- All right, I’ll go in a minute- she replied as she got our suitcases out of the car.

I walked up the staircase I saw without even looking at the first floor. I opened the last door I saw, because I thought that way I would be faster.

But when I entered I was so shocked I didn’t want to explore other rooms anymore.

It was a room absolutely beautiful

It had a big bed at the right part, in the middle of the big wall. Next to it had a table, made up of white old wood. The far pat of the room had a big window with a place where you could seat full of pillows of all kind of colors. In front of me there was a white bureau full of girly stuff. Above it, there was a frame full of photos of the previous owner of this room. I could see myself reflected on the standing round decorated mirror.

Without a doubt, that was going to be my room

-You like it? - My mother had just entered the room and was standing beside me.

-I do. It even has pictures of the girl who slept here. - I walked and took one of the photos the frame had. The girl was very pretty, maybe a little skinny but beautiful.

- Yes. The family left this morning. They just phoned to say they were sorry they couldn’t meet us. They had had family problems and they went earlier

-well, it doesn’t mind. The house is already ours- i said while i lied on the bed

-yes- my mother turned and while she left she said- unpack your stuff and go to sleep. Don’t forget you have class tomorrow.

When i had half of my clothes on the wardrobe, I changed clothes and decided to go to sleep. It was already 11 o’clock and I couldn’t almost keep my eyes open.

Tomorrow i had to start classes in my new high school, and i didn’t even know where it was. I took a deep breath and told myself that everything was going to be okay. Well, at least it couldn’t be worst than last time, no?

Before that feeling of sadness and fear caught me again, i fell asleep.
