My Presidential Conflict

I was led out of the room by Jesse about a day after I was forced into it. I walked slowly beside Jesse, his hand around my upper arm. I was led to Mundus's chamber, him and Kat were sitting in his chair. Kat was on his lap, head resting against his chest. I was instantly disgusted.

"Is the thief ready to do as I bid?"

I swallowed, adverting my eyes. He stared at me, "Answer me."

I nodded. But he still wasn't satisfied.

"I cannot hear your head rattle."

"Yes," I mumbled.

"Good. Now let me brief you on your mission."

He spun his chair, turning on the huge TV set, and pictures appeared. They were of president Barack Obama, and his security guards. I stared at them, mouth going dry. Mundus stood, placing an arm around my shoulder. I shrugged away.

"As you can see, This is President Barack Obama. He owes me money. And he refuses to give it to me. Recently, he has set up double the watch and guard. He thinks I will be the one to go and get it, but he has another guess coming. You are to sneak in and take the money from his safe. It is hidden quite well, so you will have to look for it. It should be behind a huge picture in his room. And, you have better return with the sack of cash. Or else you will be banished to Hell for the rest of your immortal life."

"How much is there?"

"About sixty five grand. And I want every last penny."

I nodded, "What if I need to fight?"

"You shouldn't have to. You are a thief, and you shouldn't be detected."

Kat walked up to Mundus, placing an arm around his waist. He stood straighter, "You know what to do. Jesse will get you there. Once you have the money, trace here. And don't even think of doing anything stupid."

Jesse dropped me off near the President's temporary home in Wisconsin, leaving quickly to not be spotted. I took a deep breath, slowly creeping towards the large complex. I had so many guards and security systems to go past, it wasn't funny.

I hurried forwards, glad for the darkness that swallowed me. Perhaps I would be able to trace past any threats that I would come by.

God, I wish Vergil was here, I thought. He would talk me out of this.

I shook the clouding thoughts from my head, sneaking up to the window. I peered inside. There was a camera in the corner, and two security guards standing by a stair case. I traced inside, half-tracing after that to avoid detection.

Up those stairs should be the President's room. And the safe. These thoughts rushed through me quickly.

I slipped past the unknowing security guards, quickly and quietly moving up the steps. I came to another room, and at the back of it were two more security guards. They stood shoulder length together, guarding the door closely.

That must be the President's room, I thought quickly.

I dug through my pockets to find a weapon of some sort. I would have to use lethal force to get in it seemed. I came up short, finding a paper clip and a rock. I licked a fang.

Time to go hunting.

I reeled back, throwing the rock as hard as I could at the guard at the left. It struck him in the eye. He let out a little cry, collapsing. The other guard turned, and was just about to shout when I pounced on his, sinking my fangs into his neck.

He screamed into my hand, the muffled shout sounding like blowing air. He fell as the life drained from him. I moved their bodies into the shadows, reaching for the door. I tried the handle. It was locked.

I pulled out the paper clip, breaking it in half. I bent one end at a ninety degree angle as a tension wrench. I kinked the other half as a rake. Pushing the ends in, I began to work.

Adjust tension. Set pin. Adjust tension, set pin.

I repeated this until there was a click, and the door popped open as I grabbed the handle. I swung the door slowly open, peering into the darkness inside. I could see his form on the bed, and he was sound asleep. Over in the corner, there was a giant picture of a lion, and behind it, the safe.

I tipped-toed in, popping the picture frame away, exposing the safe. I pulled out my make shift lock picks, opening the safe. Inside sat a sack of cash, each clump stacked neatly. I grabbed the sack, closing the safe and replacing the picture. I snuck out of the room, the sack of cash over my shoulder. I backed up closing the door softly. I turned to sneak back down the stairs, and froze.

There were five secret service agent in front of me. And they all had guns pointed at me.
