Human Nature

How can one fall,

If they never let go?

How can time fly,

Yet feel so slow?

How can you fail,

If you don’t take a chance?

How is it true love,

If it happens at first glance?

How is life short,

If there are years left to live?

How does one forget,

But never forgive?

How does one shed tears,

In times of joy?

How is a child so attached,

To a blanket or a toy?

How do we shiver,

If it isn’t even cold?

How does it feel nice,

To have a hand to hold?

How is winter beautiful,

If everything dies?

How is it that we always wished,

That we could fly?

How can some words,

Cause certain feelings?

How can a mother’s touch,

Have so much healing?

How can we have everything,

Yet still yearn for more?

How can we dance in the rain,

With all the water that pours?

How can one person,

Mean, to us, the world?

How is it that opposites attract,

Like a boy and a girl?

How can we dream every night,

Yet wake up and forget?

How do we do deeds,

That later, we regret?

No matter the age,

Tall, skinny or small,

It’s human nature,

It’s in us all.
