I actually have absolutely no idea how this chapter is because I'm so sleepy but I'm tired of not finishing this. My laptop died a month ago with the first half of the chapter trapped inside and now that it has be brought back to life, I thought I should really just get it done. One of my longest chapters AND I'M CONFUSED AND LOST so yeah.

His house was huge. Bigger than mine, in fact, which means it was really, really humongous. It looked like a castle; a modern castle, minus turrets and a moat to keep out unwanted people. It was a mixture of intimidating and cozy, which puzzled me. The walls were a dark gray, the sunlight not managing to dent its forbidding presence. The windows had no curtains, however, transparent and inviting.

  “I’m here,” I whispered.

“Why are you doing this, Annalisa?” Giselle barked over the phone. “This is mental.”

“I don’t really have a choice,” I kicked a pebble on the ground, hitting the side of the wooden fence surrounding the house.

“What do you mean you don’t have a choice?” She practically yelled at me.

  I cursed myself silently.

Damn it, I wasn’t supposed to give away Lewis’ secret!

“It’s alright, Giselle, I know what I’m doing, alright?” I studied the windows again, hoping to catch a hint of Flynn so I can at least prepare my soul for some torture.

You’re doing it again, I scolded myself. Stop with the wallowing, this was your fault  anyway.

It wasn’t that hard a decision to make, really. Before I even reached the steps of my empty house yesterday, I knew I had to swap partners. Convincing myself to carry the decision out, however, was an entirely different matter however. Firstly, Lewis was torn between dismay and spluttering excitement. It was a little comforting to know that I wasn’t the only one having difficulty with the decision.

I had thought it more appropriate to tell this swapping face to face, seeing how I had stirred up so much shit with whatever my brain chose to come with. His house wasn’t too far from mine so walking there was fairly easy.

“I didn’t know you were so excited to see me,” Lewis was smirking as he opened the door for me.

“You’ve been staring at Audrey for too long,” I chided. “You’re no longer thinking straight.”

“Gentle reminder that you are talking to a top student who is currently giving chemistry tuition to my ailing peers,” Lewis moved aside with a flourish to reveal a guy poring over thick textbooks over the couch.

“Oh dear,” I stepped back. “Am I disturbing?”

“Obviously. But no matter, William will be fine. He has an eye for girls too,” Lewis grabbed my wrist and pulled me in.

I tried my best not to assume anything, seeing how my assumptions have been resulting in some pretty disastrous consequences but I couldn’t help but notice the lack of specifications for ‘girls’.

“He likes any kinds of girls, basically,” Lewis whispered.

“Ah.” So my judgment wasn’t that off after all.

William had curly hair. Curly, curly hair that was as bright as Galen’s.

I winced. The reminder didn’t sit too well with me at the moment.

“Will,” Lewis cleared his throat. “Meet my better half,” He announced grandly.

  I raised my eyebrows.
