They tell you to stop.

They tell you that they're always there for you.

For you to confide in, for you to trust.

But they leave.

They always leave, no matter how much you need them,

However much you beg them to stay.

They leave.

And when they do, they leave you in a worse shape than you were in before they arrived.

And in the short time they stayed, you took their burdens upon yourself and their problems were your problems.

You fuss over them, consoling them, telling them that everything'll turn out alright and that they'll get through it.

That they're strong.

That they can fight through this.

And they do, eventually.

But what they don't, is take you with them.

They move on ahead, leaving you in the dust. Because you were never any real worth to them, like you thought.

They shared their worries with you and you ended up with twice as many of them than you started with.

They didn't care about your wishes, your dreams.

Your insecurities.

They didn't care. Never did, never will.

Because unlike you thought, they weren't the glue holding your broken pieces together.
