"You are a guest here now, how?"
-Regina Spektor

There she was, standing with her new lover. Her hair ever shining and eyes ever glowing. He should've known she would have moved on. He could remember how she used to look at him like that.

How can I forget your love
How can I never see you again
There is a time and place
For one more sweet embrace
And there's a time oh, when it all, oh, went wrong
I guess you know by now
That we will meet again somehow
How

He clutched his coffee cup tightly in has hands. She should know that she will see him again. He wanted so badly to walk up to her and just say hi. But he couldn't.

Oh baby
How can I begin again
How can I try to love someone new
Someone who isn't you
How can our love be true
When I'm not, oh, I'm not over you
I guess you know by now
That we will meet again somehow

He had tried to move on, he had tried so hard. But none of the girls even came close to her. No one could make him laugh like she did. No one could fill the hole in his heart that she had left.

Time can come and take away the pain
But I just want my memories to remain
To hear your voice
To see your face
There's not a moment I'd erase
You are a guest her now

It had been two years, two years, and he still couldn't get over her. She was already happy with someone else. She already, date he say it, loved someone else. A tear threatened to leave his eye but he willed it to stay.

So baby
How can forget your love
How can I never see you again
How can I never know why some stay, others go
And I don't, oh, don't want you to go
I guess I know by now
That we will meet again somehow

He wanted her to tell him she needed him, so he could say he needed her to. He wanted to sweep her into his arms and kiss her softly. But he's already had his chance, and it was over.

Time can come and wash away the pain
But I just want my mind to stay the same
To hear your voice
To see your face
There's not a moment I'd erase
You are a guest here now

He never wanted to forget her laughter ringing in his ears. Her soft smiling filling up his gaze. Her fingers running through his hair. Her whispering I love you.

So baby
How can I forget your love
How can I never see you again

She glanced over at him, her gaze sad. But it was only a second before she moved passed him. Like she had done so many times before. His heart was breaking in his chest as he left that coffee shop.

He wanted to get her back, but she was too far gone. He had let himself lose her, how?
