Shock

The feeling that stops your heart midbeat

and the one that makes you fall hard on your seat-

Your eyes glaze over and your jaw hangs wide

and for some time you feel like you have suddenly died-

It comes from some news that comes as a surprise

and brings betrayal and the seeds of your demise-

The disbelief paralyzes all your muscles like stone

and suddenly your heart feels empty and alone-

You wonder why this happened to you

and if for some reason you were not true-

This feeling makes you dizzy and weak

and with realization the tears begin to leak-

Frozen like a statue of stone or wood
