Deep Emotions

Guilt

The feeling that you've done something that can never be undone

and the feeling that clouds hover overhead to hide the sun-

On the outside you appear fine and cool

and yet on the inside you know you've been an utter fool-

You know that you've done something you don't want to face

and yet in your heart you feel so out of place-

Everywhere you go you are anxious and scared

and wonder if anyone knew that they should have their teeth bared-

You know that you cannot hide the truth with lies forever

and know that if you don't face it, it will pull the deadly lever-

If you don't  face it, it will haunt your dreams

and only stop when the truth pours from your lips in streams-

You are not going to always be able to hide

for every day you keep it hidden,  your doom is opening its mouth wide-
