Chapter 9:

Selena’s POV:

“Selena, honey, are you coming down for breakfast?” My mama said quietly. She must have been standing in my doorway.

I just groaned pulling my covers up from my chin and over my head.

“Ok sweetie, well, I’ll check on you again in a few hours.” My mom said before shutting my door, hearing it ‘click’.

I’ve been in bed since that night Justin and I had our argument and that was two days ago! The only time I get up is when I have to pee. My mom brings me food up so I won’t have to leave the room—but I still hardly eat. She’ll usually bring me sandwiches were I’ll take a few bites then be done.

I’ve even been ignoring Demi’s calls—which I know she’s probably worried sick about me now. My mama told me she talked to Demi and explained my situation, and then in returned my mom told me Demi had something important she couldn’t wait to tell me.

I sighed realizing—I can’t stay in bed forever. I can’t hide forever. I’ll have to come out eventually.

Kaylie has been asking about me the most—and more importantly when she’ll be able to see Justin again, and all my parents say is ‘not now’.

Even though Justin got mad at me, I can’t let him or that fight we had ruin and take over my life.

I took a deep breath and got out of bed, walking into my on suite bathroom. I looked in the mirror and nearly screamed looking at myself.

My hair was all over the place from not being brushed— or washed, and my eyes were big, puffy and red from all the crying I have done. And I’m pretty sure I smelt bad from the lack of bathing and not using deodorant.

I walked back out to my room and grabbed my phone.

Why do I keep waiting for Justin to call or text me?

I shook my head and decided to text Demi.

To: Demi

Hey Dems! Sorry I’ve been MIA lately, how about we catch up today over lunch?

While I waited for a reply I made up my bed and decided to pick out an outfit. Blue jean skinny jeans, with a plain pink spaghetti strap shirt? That’ll do.

I heard my phone beep and I walked over to it opening up the message.

From: Demi

Omg yes! Lunch sounds great <3 I’ll pick you up around noon?

To: Demi

Okay, that’ll be fine.

I texted back. I looked at the clock seeing it was almost eleven so I had less than an hour to get ready.

I hurried into my bathroom and began running the shower. When I got in my skin relaxed under the hot water. I used the strawberry shampoo and started massaging my scalp.

Never again will I go two—almost three days without doing this.

After getting out of the shower and wrapping myself in a towel I walked back into my room—about to take off the towel when I heard knocks on my door.
